  1. This is such a beautiful experience- It must have been very exciting when you received a reply!
  2. This is incredibly sad- I'm not much of a person who keeps up with world news, but this is harrowing. A news report pointed out that Lebanon was already in such a hard situation because of COVID-19. Praying that the brothers and sisters will be ok, and also the other people who need help and comfort. =(
  3. Her song "Keeping Your Head Up" is really great too- really danceable and super catchy 😃
  4. Same boat, man! FL is probably one of the more welcoming DAWs out there- I remember someone noting that using it almost felt like a video game, due to its relative simplicity compared to other DAWs. The pattern/loop based structure makes it very fitting for beats/EDM stuff, but it seems not to be AS good in live instrument tracking/orchestral compositions. Also, the stock plugins are really good. 😃
  5. I'm really liking their more upbeat, cheerful songs lately- namely Obla Di Obla Da and Octopus's Garden. Super fun to listen to, really puts you in a good mood 😃
  6. Not necessarily a Beatles fan, but Hey Jude has one of the best codas in popular music ever- the entire song is a build up to the euphoric "na na na Hey Jude" part, which in the 7 minute version, actually goes on for longer than the first section! Sang it A LOT around the house when I really got into the song xD
  7. I really like this one! I love the immediate 40's/50's feel it gives me when I listen to it- really fun to sing along to it as well.
  8. Oh yes, the Beatles! I remember singing "Hey Jude" in the karaoke machine during a summer gathering with the congregation- it was in a different key than the original though, so I kinda struggled xD
  9. Very interesting news! Its quite a brave move to take, at least in the view of the world, to sacrifice a future of more riches to focus on faith. I never knew he was one of us- I just knew him as your regular, solid starting point guard in the NBA. Very happy for him 😃
  10. This is actually a true experience, so thanks to my brother for telling me this xD After a usual day in the ministry, my brother (actual sibling) had a funny conversation with another brother. The other brother is a dad, so the conversation went something like this: (K for my sibling, D for the dad) K: Hey, if you ever have another son, you should name him Timothy again. D: Why should I name him that? K: So you can call him 2nd Timothy. That is like the simplest joke ever, but my brother retelling it caught me off guard xD
  11. Thank you for the appreciation! A lightbulb went off in my mind when I thought of the Plankton meme template xD
  12. I don't have a Bible study yet, but I would honestly be unprepared if I ever got one xD
  13. Shout out to all the hardworking pioneers out there 😃
  14. First meme I've posted here. Will try to have better quality ones soon xD
  15. Hey Bro 1MKnight, I'd just like to say how appreciative I am for the wealth of memes you've posted in the last few hours. Good vibes xD
  16. Just another experience I want to share. (please read till the end xD) 2 months ago, we discovered that our 9 month (now 11 month) old doggie Jammy was pregnant! We were not totally prepared, so me and my brother got really anxious- Jammy was still very young, and we were not sure if she was gonna be able to handle labor, let alone being a mother. Fast forward 2 months from then, we were in the final days of her pregnancy. It was very late at night, and I wasnt sure if I was gonna be able to help our dog Jammy if she was gonna give birth that night. (she actually gave birth the next day) I prayed to Jehovah that if it was possible, my 'ever-reliable-at-pretty-much-everything' grandmother would get involved and help. Sure enough, a couple hours later, she woke up and started to help Jammy! She comforted me and told me to relax- so I was able to get some sleep. So my prayer was answered really quickly- I am so grateful for that! The next day, Jammy was able to go through labor without any issues- a pleasant surprise, taking into account that I was nervously waiting for this day. She gave birth to 3 healthy puppies. I am very relieved that the labor is done, and we can finally move on to the next stage of motherhood for our dog. 😃 I believe Jehovah really helped me throughout the process, and I thank him so much for that! Of course, its reasonable to think that not everything is a result of divine intervention, so... I guess I want to make sure that I'm not dogmatic. (pun fully intended xD)
  17. This is also one thing I thought about every once in awhile- although I only make instrumental music, (haven't gotten around to actually recording a song xD) some of it sound quite aggressive. But to be honest, I just really make it that way cuz it sounds cool- the sound design that goes into making awesome synth basses and sounds are really commendable. I've read many artists say that their music is a form of catharsis- a way to release negative feelings. I really appreciate that, expressing yourself in your art. I think as long as I don't promote or express non-Christian ideals in my music, I should be alright. 😃 Really interesting topic you have going here, Bro Norbro. I'd like to commend your open expression of your struggles- that is really brave. Brotherly love from this side of the planet 😃
  18. I thought I was going to be the one to post something like this... but yeah, producer right here as well! I was really into the dance music scene for a couple years, (make melodic house/future bass stuff) but I gradually lost interest in finding music in those genres for some reason. It wasn't even about the potentially dangerous culture of electronic dance music, I just really dozed off xD I still produce to this day of course, which is one of my main hobbies- recently I make more chill/instrumental hip hop stuff, but I'm interested in going back for a bigger sound soon. 😃 Glad to meet you! What DAW (digital audio workstation) do you use, if I may ask?
  19. Yeah, if I named it something else, it would probably wouldn't be here with us today xD
  20. A couple years ago, I composed an orchestral piece on my laptop named "Anastasis", which is Greek for "resurrection". I mostly made (and make to this day) regular electronic tunes, so this song was pretty special, since I decided to make it a song about one of my beliefs. 😃 I do remember there was a problem during the composition process though- my laptop, in some way, suddenly shut down, and since I was only using a trial version of the music software I used, I wasn't able to save the file! I've lost a lot of potential songs in this way, so I was sad that I maybe lost another one- one that was specifically quite special. In a surprising twist of events, I turned on the laptop- and it allowed me to recover the session for the song! In this way, I was happily able to finish the piece. This has never happen to any other of my lost sessions... could the angels have helped? Probably not, its just random speculation. xD That's all. 😃
  21. I can thank my grandparents for knowing Green Green Grass of Home- one of the many oldies songs I knew to thanks to them xD I didn't know it was about a guy on death row until I gave it a full listen. Still a very nostalgic and wistful song, though 😃
  22. First public status xD

Just got baptized in our convention today! I want to share a small comforting insight I had on the way back home (and what my mom talked about with me before the convention)- baptism really just symbolizes your dedication to doing Jehovah's will. You don't have to be the perfect model Witness from day one- you just have to keep improving from that point on, the same way you were improving before baptism. I'm kinda scared of big changes in life, so I guess this idea really comforts me.

Sorry if this was a mouthful, just wanted to share a thought xD

      Hey, Ivy took my words!

Welcome to the organization! Please by all means continue your progress, keep yourself involved in the congregation, help out with cleaning and maintenance, running the microphones, accept any privileges you may receive if at all possible. Go to service with young and old alike, learn from their experiences. This will help you to keep the momentum even after baptism 👏🏻

    3. well

      well

@ivy, not fair, you will always be like 20 hours ahead!

  23. I scroll through my Facebook feed a lot- I see posts about my interests, and get to see what friends/family are doin. One page I am following is a page called Math Major Be Like- a community based on math problems, math memes, etc. Its not the most interesting place ever, but its pretty fun to see people's tips and opinions on the subject. (I really just subscribed so I could get comfortable with math xD) Just a couple hours ago, lazily scrolling through my feed again, I noticed a post by that math group that caught my eye- its about how math is involved in the Bible. Not really seeing stuff like that often, I decided to take a better look. Man, and I couldn't believe it- it was a full explanation on why its true that Jesus became king in 1914! This wasn't just a basic counting job too- it was a full, comprehensive explanation on how it landed on that date. (AND also an explanation on the years after, until 1919) To be honest, I was only able to skim through it, as it was in Tagalog (which is not my first language) and I can't find it on my feed anymore, lol. But seriously, I was so amazed- I think that the person who posted that could be a brother/sister. 😃 I probably need to do a review again on the full explanation- thanks to this for reminding me! xD
