Ray thanks for that. I now know more than I did before. We have about the same climate then, well winter anyway. We don't get especially cold, only had a couple mornings of frost on the windshield. Not good for us and the mosquito population.

Our spring is off to a real good start. Things came up in the garden in February- odd, really odd. Here's my first harvest of green onion. Fragrant beyond belief.

And this is a spanish sister who made dinner for us last night, using my garden goodies. She made mexican rice, chicken fajita, and pork verde (?), oh my goodness was it ever wonderful. That rice is amazing and now I have a new way to make it, sweet!

This is the last official weekend of our Kingdom Hall build so she goes home tomorrow. She went clam digging this morning before going to the site, she was able to get a whole limit of clams, and on her first time digging!! Good girl!

and I thought we could never love Satan

I think he would have one extra requirement for baptism - changing his name

I was wondering about that. Personally, I know I wouldn't be able to invite him to my home for gatherings. satan's just not welcome! :nope:

I once knew a Brother whose given name was Christ Mass (pronounced krist, with a short I)

His parents could not understand why he wanted to change his name.

Although some of my family records are wrong, but if this right, then she is my GGG grandmother. She is half Native American and half German. I have a lot to tell her in the and families in the past in the New World that I fought for their Native American heritage without a tomahawk. And she is the main cause of my beauty too. :indian::drink:http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=10401139

She was barely 40 years old when she died! What a tragedy — although, I suppose that would have been normal for that time.

I'm sure your going to have a great reunion in Paradise. :)

We've had a bit of rain here the last couple of days...

The creek through the middle of Stanthorpe has been over most of the bridges, it's very full:

This bridge was barely wet, others had a few inches over them:

We don't usually get this much rain at this time of year, but it was only about 3" so it wasn't too extraordinary.

The winds were ferocious through Friday night, some places had a lot of trees down.

Ray is this Queensland end?

Yesterday I we came up to Coffs Harbor Wow what a drive.. Freaky. Had loads of heavy rain. could hardly see the road in some sections. & noticed how brown the water is.

Since March we've had crazy rain & mini cyclones around Sydney.. I heard a couple weeks back. Sutherland's meeting held at Sylvania were I used to go also for Cronulla was postponed. Our C'O had said it.. A tree had fallen cause of the storms...

wollongong didn't far much either...

But this picture is today taken at Sawtell. Looks like a great area when the sun would be out.

Sure thing, Gabe, Stanthorpe is in Queensland...

We certainly didn't get as much rain as the coastal areas.

Somewhere or other I have a nice pic I took at Sawtell. Or that might have been at Raleigh? Are you checking out the Kingdom Hall there?

Apart from a Kingdom Hall?

A rail bridge over the mouth of the river, a beach, fishing spots, a few holiday homes, spill from the sprawl of unkempt Coffs Harbour. And fresh fish.

Where you do need to go is Bellingen, but then again it's just been flooded and it's not anything nearly as appealing as it was thirty or forty years ago. Then it was a thriving town supporting a thriving rural community where dairying was the major industry.

The dairies are all gone now, the Yuppies have moved in and the town is just a bunch of coffee shops and craft shops.

Better you drive out to Thora and then up the hill to Dorrigo. A lovely spot and a nice drive up over the waterfall.

Don't be afraid, either, to take a loop out through Nana Glen to Glenreagh and back across to Woolgoolga, a nice little drive through a variety of different types of country. There's another hall at Safety Beach, while there's one at Coffs Harbour itself too.

Thanks Ray...Thats great. We do want to do some walks. depends on Hubby's comfort zone.

Do you know the Big Banana up here. It was the first time I have actually gone in. It seems to have changed...

I always thought that the Banana Plantation went up & over the Hills. But the land is all beautiful mowed lawns. & Not much Plantation. Has this changed cause of the Cyclones & Storms?

More likely it's changed because of economic issues...

Banana production in Queensland has, I think, made inroads into the Coffs area viability. And then there's land value increases because of the urban sprawl there.

Frankly, things like the Big Banana hold little interest for me. We did spend some time in the opal shops when my wife accompanied me there at times, but otherwise looked for natural beauty. And you don't find much of that in Coffs itself.
