Second - Crimea belongs to Crimean people since yesterday and Ukraine would have to swallow this.

This is a fact and I'm really sorry if you don't like this.

And notice - I'm absolutely politically neutral.

It must be very hard to remain without opinion in the middle of turmoil. I think the important thing to keep in mind is that Jehovah wants us to live as if we are all "alien residents" in this system of things. It helps me to remember this when I go through highly stressful situations. I keep reminding myself that this is only temporary, it will not be like this very much longer because we are so close to the end. I am looking forward to being able to go anywhere on earth without boundaries or having to file documents just to see my friends. Remember all of us love you and support you right now, stay strong. We only have one side, Jehovah's!

We'll see what happens this Sunday after the referendum (vote)   ....   the world is watching - again.

Sooooo....... Crimea goes back to Russia.

Exit-pool shows 93% ....

Well... now in addition to Russian language we will also have restriction and probably ban....

...absolute rubbish...

Something a brother once told me, the whole earth may be under Satan  control & man's power, but the whole earth itself belongs to Jehovah God - the one who created it. ^_^  Soon, there won't be countries like we know it anymore, it will be a complete paradise - in perfect harmony and under Jehovah's & Christ's rule :)

I live in a temporary reality- awaiting the day I wake up to life in the real world!

Are you really neutral ? You support one side over another .... Dear sister stay neutral and please don't forget Who is the ruler of the nations right now ! Only Jehovah will bring peaceful conditions to Crimea ...

It really saddens me seeing brothers and sister taking sides in a Satan's political game of chess...

I am absolutely politically neutral.

Read, please, my previous post (# 81)

But linguistically - I'm not neutral :)

See the difference?

Take a look at the new programme on jw.org.

"Symposium:Anticipate Future KingdomBlessings!

A World Without Satan (Revelation20:2, 3, 7,10)

One Language (Zephaniah 3:9; Zechariah 14:9)

Now that's something I cannot wait for. I just hope Jehovah does what he did in Babel in reverse. No need to learn that One Language the old fashioned ways then. :)

Here in my Kingdom Hall (big 2 levels) we have Korean, Thai, Hindi congregations . I serve in English speaking cong. But you know what all of us have in common ? We all strive to learn more languages in order to help others on our teritory. You have big Advantage in your hands ... You can use your knowledge of language in your ministry. I come from Poland and often use polish language in my ministry, currently I am learning French ( my wife's language) so I can help French speaking migrants to learn about Jehovah as well. .... Yes language can play vital role in our service ! But one language is coming soon ! Zeph 3:9

Hey Campanula, I've been looking at the live web cam's you suggested and I can see it's just as you said. People seem to be going on with their lives as though nothing is out of place and nothing exciting is making anyone act unusual. I don't see any sign of troop movements or demonstrations there in Sevastopol. I hope the peace you seem to be enjoying continues spiritually. I know the Russian government wants to control all its people and have been trying to ban our brotherhood again but so far its not happening. Jehovah has plans for his organization which he will not let be undone or halted regarding his purposes. As everyone has expressed our prayers are with you.

By the way what is the building in the background with all the white pillars and who's statue is in front next to the street. I've seen many taking pictures of these. It's kind of interesting watching people go on with their lives in other lands. I find it very interesting watching people hustling and bustling with their activities and daily routines. I've loaded a translation program on my browser but so far haven't gotten it to work so I'm not able to read the web page describing where the camera is located. Definitely beautiful countryside and ocean views. I've opened several web pages and am watching as I write.

"Russia could turn US into Radioactive ash"

http://news.yahoo.com/state-tv-says-russia-could-turn-us-radioactive-212003397.html

Excerpt:

"Russia is the only country in the world realistically capable of turning the United States into radioactive ash," anchor Dmitry Kiselyov said on his weekly news show on state-controlled Rossiya 1 television.

Kiselyov made the comment to support his argument that the United States and President Barack Obama were living in fear of Russia led by President Vladimir Putin amid the Ukraine crisis.

His programme was broadcast as the first exit polls were being published showing an overwhelming majority of Crimeans voting to leave Ukraine and join Russia.

Since we know from Bible prophecy that the last world power is the Anglo-American power, there is no way this is going to happen or that Russia will become a dominant world power.

Hi, Rick!

The white pillars are very common in Sevastopol's architecture.

The building in the background is Earl's Harbor and the monument is to Admiral Nakhimov.

Here some yesterday's pictures of people celebrating vote.

They put so much hope on their new human ruler,  :( :(

I'm guessing he already forgot about the long-standing MAD (mutually assured destruction) policy? Unless Russia can simultaneously strike the US and all of their classified offshore missile sites, any nuclear strike by Russia in the US means the Russian capital and cities are automatically bombed. Same goes for a US strike against Russia, regardless of how eager some US politicians are to test out that theory.

Somehow, the threat of a nuclear strike doesn't pack as much punch when it's essentially a suicide pact.

Hi Svetlana,

We have a good number of immigrants from Ukraine here in Spain, and I was surprised that, when I showed them publications in Ukrainian, they preferred them in Russian. This has happened with all Ukrainians I have found so far. In fact, there used to be an Ukrainian group that was part of the Polish congregation, and it was cancelled some time ago and their members moved to the Russian congregation.

I read a lot of inhabitants in Ukraine are not originally Ukrainian, but come from Russian families that moved there in Communist times. So is Ukrainian language not widely spoken in Ukraine? Or maybe immigrants come from a particular area in the country where Russian is spoken?

If I may ask Svetlana, how has this change affected your door to door ministry? What are peoples reactions now when you talk with them? Are they more or less inclined to carry on a conversation now? How are the brothers and sisters fairing with this new change in government?

I heard Putin state in the news today that Crimea is now a free and sovereign nation and not a republic of Russia, I'm not sure how that affects anything or exactly what he hopes to accomplish by this statement. But I am curious how all this has affected your congregation.

By the way how do you get to your territories? Is walking and bus the best way or is gas cheap enough that everyone drives everywhere like here in the states? Speaking of prices how much is a gallon of gas in your neighborhood? I ask these questions because I noticed many cars on the road, parking lots seem to be empty, people walking everywhere and I also noticed bus travel to be very popular on the web cam views.

Hi, Carlos!

Ukraine is pretty much "made up" formation composed of several regions of former USSR and some Polish, Hungarian, Romanian districts with Ukrainian-speaking population mostly.

At this particular time it is divided on two large areas: Western (Ukrainian speaking population) and Eastern (Russian speaking population)

Those people, who speak Russian, are not immigrants, their ancestors were not immigrants also, they did not cross any borders, they just moved inside of ONE country - USSR. They do have another cultural background, not always Russian, but more industrially oriented and educated.

In soviet times all people  (well, at least part of them LOL) felt like one nation and their common language was Russian.

Hi, Rick!

We were suggested  not to go directly from door to door, just do return visits, bible studies and street service.

Peoples reaction has not much changed, they still hate us, as usual LOL, and do not want to talk .

Exactly, like you very politely say "less inclined to carry on a conversation"  LOL

They are now celebrating joining Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia.

As far as we will have Russian law, our congregation must re-register all our documentation.

Walking and bus is the best and the cheapest way for our territory in the city.

For those brothers and sisters, who live in the rural territory gas is pretty expensive, so they also walk or use public transportation, One liter of gas costs  about $1,5.

Web cams located mostly in the very center of the city, where our City Hall located and where only our authorities can park their cars, so when there going to be meetings, concerts or other  public events they must be really crazy to park their  very expensive cars on the main square.

Thanks for the info. Oh and thanks for the pictures. Its pretty clear that many worship their nation and its monuments there.

Please keep us informed. I'm sure your suspicions about the future in your area are based on experience and that you will survive as usual but hope knowing we are all wanting to encourage you, will keep your joy alive and a smile on your face when you read some of the things we write. You are part of our big happy family, that's why you're so popular. We all want to look after family. Its hard to know what to say to someone in your precarious position that will help. But I do know that laughing about anything makes the day brighter. And laughing with friends is always the best medicine.

Please tell us more about daily life there. We live in a different culture here and are anxious to know about yours.

May Jehovah always be with you.
