Who here does NOT like Bacon?

Recommended Posts

I am only a newbie poster - but the number of times a post has come up promoting bacon is at the very least - noticeable. I gather we  have bacon lovers here?

Who here is not a bacon lover?

(I can take or leave it depending on how it's done and the combination it is done with). I don't really like ham either.

Don't let Jerry see this topic. Especially while he's ill.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

I found the bacon frequently served in the US to be a bit too thin...

It was often referred to as 'Canadian bacon' but that doesn't matter, it was so thin you didn't get a mouthful very easily at all.

Crisp, sure, but generally I can't endorse any move to dislike bacon.

I like bacon, but I'm not keen on some types of ham.......

The bacon has to be well done (not burned) because I'm somewhat unnerved by the amount of parasites in undercooked meat.

I could probably be a vegetarian........if I set my mind to it.

Ok, lets differentiate, American bacon is from the belly, like pork belly. It's fattier. But after smoking- it can be a pepper bacon, apple bacon, maple bacon etc- it is generally sliced length wise and can be thin or thick slice, whichever you wish. I have home grown pork and its lightly alderwood smoked and less salt but crisped up it's delectable.

Canadian bacon is a loin from the back of the pig. Leaner and not the same at all. As a loin it's round and cut into thin rounds.  I like canadian bacon on pizza and on an english muffin with egg and cheese but not by itself.
