Not too sure about my auto avatar. Looks rather menacing and mechanoid. I don't yet have the skills to alter it, or include quotes in my posts. I will pass on something one of my calls said about dogs. (He is divorced I must add.) "If you want to know who loves you most, your dog or your wife, lock them both in the garage for a couple of hours and see who is most pleased to see you when you let them out!" I haven't tried it as I don't have a dog. Besides it would take too long to empty the garage.

 

Mechanical fits with your name.

 

I have a wife and a dog (and 2 cats).  Likewise, no garage.

Go to your profile: http://jwtalk.net/forums/user/6026-copperman/

Click the button "Edit my profile"

Click the button "Change my picture"

Select the picture you like and you're done.

If anyone wants to block the generated avatars, that can be done with Adblock Plus in any major browser. (Download here: http://adblockplus.org/)

 

1. Click the adblock icon in the upper right corner of your browser.

 

2. Click "Options".

 

3. Click "Add your own filters".

 

4. In the entry field, paste this line:

||gravatar.com/*

Then click "+ add filter".

 

 

This may cause a small handful of user-uploaded avatars to disappear, but ALL the computer-generated default avatars will be completely gone, without any change to the forum software or any user's accounts.

I notice the nasty avatars have greatly diminished in the last few days...

This avatar was auto generated, but turned out to be a helpful reminder that I need to think before I open my mouth and sometimes Im better off keeping it shut altogether.
