Oh dear. I have a young FB friend whose family was getting ready for it. I need to check and see if she and her family is okay. Yes. Prayers for our dear friends there. 

Also, my little sister posts daily. Nothing in a day or two. Again, prayers...

 We have a large Fijian community in our congregation, at the moment, they are unable to get word from their families and friends. No communication outside the islands. They are all anxiously waiting for some word. The storm is meant to move towards Nz Fri/Sat but by then it should only be a tropical storm - I hope.

 

Fijians don't have much as it is, now they will be completely devastated ... hoping to hear soon.

It's easier to remember to rely on Jehovah, when HE is all you have left.

 

Jehovah and their brothers and sisters--worldwide--will come to their aid.

I heard from our young sister. Sounds like there have been deaths with the friends. Food and crops gone. Jehovah's organization is there, helping. They need our prayers, and my donation will be  little more personal this time. A bit extra.

They are reporting 25 deaths in general pop here and rising. But i think it's more than that as communication on some islands are still very difficult.

Correct me if wrong but I believe Brother Jackson of GB served in Fiji and wife is from there.

Think he is from an island called Tonga, which is probably part of Fiji. His first wife, I think was from Tazmania. Know he is an Island 

guy in his heart.

Tonga isn't part of the Fiji Islands,  but fairly close as far as the crow flies.  Tongan language is a little closer to Maori than Fijian is. Hoping for more news still.

 

The storm seems to have dissipated into a rain band that we will get in the weekend. Hoping this is the last of the Hurricanes for the year.
