When we lived in Iowa the lightning storms were like that. Absolutely incredible.  I am originally from Southern California,  now living in central California,  I had never seen non- stop lightning like that before. There were several flashrs per second. You could have driven you car at midnight,  without the headlights on.

The thunder was equally impressive,  a non- stop roll of noise...I wish I had recorded some....

Denise laughed at me, several times...I would stand out on the porch, sheltered from the rain,  and just watch...:depressed:(this, but smiling, awe struck)

We frequently have those storms with non-stop lightning. Very dangerous to be out in those storms here. Many get struck with lightning.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

I used to laugh at that. I kinda know what I'm talking about,  I lived in Desert Hot Springs CA for a number of years , working in weld shops, we would set steel in 120-125F all summer long. ..

"Get in; the water is fine, bro!", said the rubber ducky. "Not now, maybe tonight when it's 105 and no sun!" was bro's response.dc12fc86f6942fd4e4afc3386a1edbba.jpg

I saw a night like that, in Desert Hot Springs;113F at  1:30 in the morning. ...

Work truck had no AC and it was better to leave the windows up, and sweat, than it was to have them down and get blasted by the blow torch heat....

Glad I live in NorCal now. Might get to 90F this week...

We are expecting 90F plus humidity making it feel 102 F.

At 9 AM it already feels like 91F

Tomorrow high is expected to be 75F after dropping to 55F tonight.

Maybe I'll get my cold weather gear out for tonight. :)-D

I bought a new HVAC about 10 years ago, the size of an HVAC is based on the size of the house, you don't want the system too big or too small. Our house needed a 2 ton unit but I bought a two speed 3 ton unit. Most of the time it runs in Low speed and saves energy but during the hot weather it kicks into High speed, we never overheat. >:D<
