You are right brother. Russians consider themselves as Orthodox Christians. For example When Russian orthodox military services went to Georgia to bomb, Georgian and Russian orthodox soldiers  were shooting one another;  Georgian Orthodox church patriarch said that Orthodox Russians bomb Orthodox Georgians. (John 13:34,35). Awake 06.09 also mentioned about it:

“We are facing very serious peril [the political crisis in Georgia] . . . God is with us and [the] Virgin Mary is protecting [us], but one thing concerns us very deeply—that Orthodox Russians are bombing Orthodox Georgians.”—GEORGIAN CATHOLICOS PATRIARCH ILLIA II.
