Mullumbimby NSW Australia

The town where I live.  Known as Mullum by the locals.  Mullum is a small country town in the Byron Bay shire.  Famous for its hippies who settled here in the 70’s after a festival call Aquarius was held in nearby Nimbin.  Now the town’s demographics have changed.  We moved here 20 years ago from Sydney.  During Covid many relocated here from the cities so the town has become very busy.

Nurioopta - South Australia

Located in the Barossa Valley, the town's name is an local Aboriginal word for "meeting place". It is the Barossa Valley's major commercial center, thus a fitting name for the town. It is home to several vineyards such as Wolf Blass and Penfolds which is one of the oldest vineyard in Australia.

Okefenokee Swamp

The Okefenokee Swamp is a shallow, 438,000-acre (177,000 ha), peat-filled wetland straddling the Georgia–Florida line in the United States. A majority of the swamp is protected by the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the Okefenokee Wilderness. The Okefenokee Swamp is considered to be one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia. The Okefenokee is the largest "blackwater" swamp in North America.

It is about an hour and a half north of me

Pokolbin - New South Wales

Another place where there are bountiful vineyards to visit and taste their samples. There are plenty of rural retreats and stays where you stay for the weekend or longer if you like, and only a couple of hours north of Sydney, which makes it quick weekend getaway.
