'Be ready for rainfall of the kind that you have never experienced,' said meteorological agency official Yasushi Kajihara, adding that areas usually safe from disasters may prove vulnerable.

'Take all measures necessary to save your life,' he said.

So sad. :( Praying for our family in harm's way.

I think it would help to think of our preaching work as urgent as this, "Take all measures necessary to save lives."

How on earth can 7 MILLION people evacuate????

Hopefully, faster than one at a time.

Where to they evacuate to?  I'm rather sure there are no typhoon-free zones. :(

Higher ground might save them from the flooding but not the winds.

And what do they return to find?  Some in the evacuation centers lost their homes

in the last typhoon, back in the end of August and first part of September.

They were already homeless.  :(

Another thing to 'sigh' about in this septic system.  :(

The typhoon should have landed to Philippines but it went to Japan anyway.

I keep on asking. How long?!

My personal dillemma is that its hard to keep a job these days.

Companies are only interested in their own financial progress.

I have a friend in Chiba province, which suffered last month’s typhoon. So far no bad news. They would have been evacuated to higher ground because a lot of that part of the coastline is below sea level, and with a high tide they expected big storm surges.
