UN error led to myth on meat's key role in climate change

I have learnt today that the UN's food and agriculture organisation (FAO) made a huge mistake in its calculations of meat-related carbon footprint in the early 2000s, which has since created a myth that reducing meat consumption will save the planet. As a result, many people have gone vegan or reduced meat to only once a week. Some even "meat-shame" those who do not want to give up their old eating habits.

The info is not new, but for some reason I have not heard of this error until today. So I thought that some of you who may sometimes feel guilty about eating meat should know the facts. :)

Then we would be putting the blame on Jehovah for creating such earth-ruining cows. God's creations do emit gases and have always done so for millennia without any environmental consequences.

The problem started about a century ago. It does not take a genius to know who the culprit is, but unfortunately, as his custom is, he refuses to admit his fault and always comes up with all kinds of excuses so that he can continue living irresponsibly and immorally.

I hate to post information without quoting the source.....but I'm sure I have read that the reason cows and sheep and goats belch and fart so much is because we are feeding them the wrong food for their systems. Farmers give cattle the cheapest food to eat.....corn mostly.....and it upsets their stomachs and their digestive systems. Cattle who graze on grass as they are supposed to do not have the same problems (and the meat tastes better) but this uses much more space.....and land is expensive. So humans crowd cows into small enclosures, feed them indigestible food and this is definitely contributing to the global warming problems. Whenever humans stray from Jehovah's way of doing things they create problems for themselves and create imbalance.

.....And....just think of all those poor cows with upset tummies......

God didn’t create the meat industry with it’s meat production. It is not the animal in itself that is the problem, it is people who want to produce more and more cheap meat. And at what cost?

Moreover, technological, genetic and management changes that have taken place in US agriculture over the past 70 years have made livestock production more efficient and less greenhouse gas-intensive. According to the FAO's statistical database, total direct greenhouse gas emissions from US livestock have declined 11.3 percent since 1961, while production of livestock meat has more than doubled.

So IF we stopped using these processes to raise livestock and went back to free range grass fed production does that mean that IN fact greenhouse gasses would  increase? That by centralizing the feed lots to reduce shipping costs ( and fuel expenditure) is reducing GHG emissions?  What??

Believe me tvor not : Dino Farts have been considered as a possible suspect.

The humble Termite is also credited .

Here’s a developing list of how the fires are affecting glaciers, wildlife,

water supplies, and global carbon emissions.

These days (last) there is only one website in all the world that I trust for information that is not fake or made up or exaggerated or twisted or spun in one way or another......and you all visit it regularly JW.org.

I get to read a pure book (Jehovahs love letter to mankind) that has not been contaminated by writings of satan and I have 100 percent trust of anything from the website,  thank you Jehovah.

I did not say that God created the meat industry. You are actually agreeing with my statement that animals are not to blame, but sadly scientists are blaming the animals. They do not see that man with his love of profits is the culprit.

No, I don't think that is the reason. Cows, sheep and goats are ruminants. Food gets fermented in their stomachs and even if you feed them on pasture they would still get gases. No wonder scientists are pondering breeding cows that do not produce as much gas by changing animals' microbiome and even the genes. They believe they can cut their gases by 50%.

That would be again blaming Jehovah for faulty creations. :)

Your post about chickens is interesting, which shows that it is not the animals that are to blame, but humans. One would think that chickens on their own would not generate too much carbon.
