This is my absolutely all time favorite flower. Queen Anne's Lace is also called Wild Carrot and smells just like an uprooted carrot when picked.

Oh no. These are a weed in Wisconsin and I hate them frankly. They're a real pain to uproot and quite prolific! I wish they would stay in the woods or something, maybe I would like them more.

Beautiful blue rose, but is it for real? What's the story behind it? They have tried for years to make a true blue rose but I have never heard of any successes. Outside of food coloring that is. :D

I can answer your question about the blue rose, yes there are true blue roses now. One of my best friends favours the blue rose, so it was something that I looked up! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_rose they spliced in a gene from the petunia (there are also mauve coloured roses now too).

The flowers are yet another marvel of Jehovah's creation, it took scientists 13 YEARS to produce a blue rose, whereas there are wide varieties of colours in our floral bouquet given by Jehovah. Additionally, many have UV aspects that only the insects which pollinate them can see. Fascinating stuff.

I always loved "Leberblümchen" (Anemone hepatica):

88086=4981-450px-Hepatica_nobilis_flower I was so happy as a little girl when I found some and I still love them, the colour is so special, and they look so fragile. I just checked, they are called liverwort, pennywort or kidneywort in English. I also love Violets, they just start flowering in our garden. Roses are wonderful too, especially the old kinds. Near my hometown there's a botanical garden where they have rose bushes that are a hundred years old. They have a fragrance, that is so deep and wonderful...

88087=4982-little_gem_magnolia_tree_flow My favorite flower used to be the first flower of spring (crocus), or the orchid (Moises, I am in love with your ORCHIDS!) but after having touched the petals of, and smelled the fragrance (it smells citrusy to me, which wasn't what I was expecting) the magnolia flower is now my favorite.

Ahhhh I totally enjoy looking at all kinds of flowers.

Whilst out one day I called at a house in rural Wales. The Gentleman came to the gate and we chatted about creation. I told him I admired the location that he lived in and that I thought it was very beautiful. He looked around his garden and then said that it was ok but at the moment it was all dead. (being winter)

I pointed out that the garden was not dead but sleeping and I noticed that he has some little snowdrops growing on the bank of his garden. I asked him if he had ever looked into a snowdrop. He admitted that he hadn't so I asked him to take a look. The man did so and I observed the look of awe on his face. The man thanked me for pointing it out and I told him that Jehovah's creation was a wonderful thing. We discussed the Bible and i told the man that snowdrops were like the bible. Many people have one but they rarely take a peek at the wonderful truths that the book holds. The man accepted the Bible Teach book.

How many of you have ever looked into a snow drop?

because the flowers tend to droop down not many people have taken time to take a peek. They are truly beautiful flowers.

Well we can thank Jehovah first and probably some inventive gardeners for that blue rose.

I used to design scenes quite often for people who wanted their glass doors etched. I have become very familiar with many plants and flowers as a result. Once I did a Hawaiian scene with waterfalls and specific flowers native to the islands. It turned out beautiful. I will share some of the flowers besides the hibiscus, which I already posted.

While I was living in Hawaii in 1970, one of my grandmothers died and I sent an arrangement of Bird of Paradise and Red Anthurium flowers. It sure looked strange up on the boot hill cemetary in the dry desert town of Mitchell, OR. they sent me a picture but I can't seem to find it. I thought the flower was so cool.

Sharon, I love the magnolia petal, too! It is lightly scented and delicate, sometimes on a nice cool morning I'll carry one around with me and sniff it, until it turns brown. Chris, I love your plumeria picture, is any scent more intoxicating (perhaps literally:eek:)? sometimes I carry one of those around, too. Have you seen angel trumpet flowers? They smell great, too.

89077=5021-angeltrumpetflower.jpg Also, are those split leaf philodendrons? My grandma had some, but not nearly has big.

If I could grow a magnolia tree here I would!! Seeeeeeeeds, I need seeds LOL.

For fragrance this is my all time favorite smelling flower. Most, due to my chemical sensitivities, I just cannot stomach.

I really wanted to carry Gardenias in my wedding but they turn brown so fast. I could stuff a petal up my nose and walk around with it all day! YUM!!!!

The center of this one looks like a Dairy Queen swirl ice cream cone.
