The south-eastern corner of Queensland (incl Brisbane) has recorded 31 areas with over 1,000 mm rain (39") within a few days.

That's 2/3 annual rainfall in 3 days.

15,000 homes inundated.

1,000 roads cut.

There is no doubt our friends have been affected. We can have full confidence that the Branch has moved on this to provide what is needed to those affected.

The "Rain Bomb" has dumped unprecedented rain in thd area. The weather system is heading south crossing the border so that cities in NSW are now experiencing record flooding.

Sydney is bracing for estimated rainfall of 160mm (6.5") in the next 48 hours.

These people spent the night stuck on a bridge cut off my water on both sides. The rate the water is rising must be phenomenal for this to happen.

They have been rescued now.

Heavy Rain will continue in Sydney for today. The peak levels of 2021 have already been surpassed.
Brisbane gets hit by wild storms during flood clean-up.
I expect this will take some weeks extending into months and years in some areas.

But it ain't over yet!

The warehouses and supermarkets have been completely flooded, so food and clean water (ironically) is running low. Helicopter drops for food, because all roads, highways and rail affected. It’s unbelievable how big the area affected is, across two states and thousands of kilometres.

I feel this will eventually affect us all in Australia.  With warehouses under water and so much ruined stock, it will lead to possible food shortages, and other things, across the whole country.

Fresh food and a lot of meat and dairy is produced locally in most places, but packaged and processed food is transported from the East.  So like the floods that stopped the trains a few weeks ago and caused food shortages, better stock up now in preparation for it happening again.

Don't give up .. it's just around the corner.

I was thinking the same.  Very sad.  And the farmers have lost herds of animals, fences are gone, food crops are destroyed, top soil is washed away.  This will impact our food production for a long time.  How does one recover from losing so much?  How quickly things change now...
