FYI: The US Branch has advised Circuit Overseers and Elders to remind the congregations to be prepared for civil unrest that is appropriate for their area, so not all congregations in the US will receive the same information.

After the shooting in Hamburg Germany, we started posting brothers at all entrances during the whole meeting. They 'attended' the meeting through Zoom though just a few feet from the room. The hall is 12 years old with underground parking and the parking below is closed 5 minutes after the meeting starts.

Will the election result affect us in Canada? Will have to wait and see. Ouch!

Keep on the watch.

Its nice to know the kingdom is coming.

We need it FAST! The world is "ugly" and what is happening everywhere is just terrible. (We need Jesus to act at lightning speed)

I agree. I will wait, but maybe I won't want to watch.

Fortunately for me, I am part of a weekly Zoom service group Tuesday evenings. So I have no choice but to stay indoors.

However we have our midweek meeting on Wednesdays. I'd hate to say it, but I'm not looking forward to it this week; I have to walk a lengthy stretch outdoors to get to the hall.

I think Wednesday will still be ok. There are swing states that are going to take longer to calculate so maybe the riots will hold off a bit.

My area is filled with redneck Republicans, diehard followers of Trump. Constantly like to push the political talk and the “blankety-blank” Biden this and “blankety-blank” Harris that.

Half the time, even in field service we constantly get confronted with this garbage. Major test of neutrality. Watching things very closely on my end. My elders have already sounded the alarm several times to make plans on how we would protect our families.

My hope is, are that things end peacefully, but we all know what times we live in.

I would be careful my brother not to use labels of political parties and certainly not add on extra words to describe either one.   The comment listed above, to the worldly eye, could possibly show how one feels about a certain political affiliation.  A friendly reminder to all that this is a public forum, seen by non-witnesses as well, including being cataloged on google searches.   I know emotions are running ever so high in the U.S., but we have to be careful how we address things to others.    This site, for the most part, is public, anyone correct me if I am wrong...

I understand, and I already know all this.

However, to clear any misunderstandings, I will have to briefly address this by saying that I had never intended to give a political opinion when I had made this post. If others feel that my post had been giving the wrong impression, I apologize.

One of my faults is, is that have a tendency to be very blunt and simply tell it like it is, sometimes to a fault. But in making that post, I was simply trying to describe what was going on in my area, nothing more, and nothing less.

With that said, all this political stuff gets thrown into my face constantly. I limit my news intake, and I frequently see people out on the streets with signs advertising for one candidate or another. Sometimes my customers at work try to engage me in political discussions but I always either change the subject or I tell them that I voted for God’s Kingdom.

That’s all I will say about the matter, and I’m going to leave it at that, but I wanted to make my position clear on this.

Spelling and grammar; added a couple points.

Leviticus 19:18: “‘You must not take vengeance nor hold a grudge against the sons of your people, and you must love your fellow man as yourself.”

I love this. As brothers and sisters, we only get 8 bits at a time. Even among close friends and family, texting can make it hard to fully convey meaning. How much more challenging is it on a public forum with “witnesses” we don’t know, where we lack context about each other’s life, comprehension, time in the truth, upbringing, culture, and experiences? Plus, this platform even translates for us, so context will always vary.

How many issues—especially around neutrality—might be avoided if we truly had that context? The world often uses one scripture, think Isaiah 14:12 to create a narrative; as Witnesses, don’t we sometimes need the whole chapter for true understanding?

Thank you for helping us get to know you better. It’s the only way to deepen our love and get through this world. We need more of this.

Stock market is up and no riots - I know this is NOT what "peace and security" will look like - as there are a lot of wars and such going on around the world, but  ..... maybe soon?

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....

I can definitely say that my kids will see true peace and security. I am 100% positive.

My wife and I feel this... we generated AI photos of our kids. We're so glad we really choose not to. That pressure alone is immense. I know Jehovah is going to do way better for us than AI ever can. So we're excited and keeping that hope alive.

I really can’t picture how peace and security is going to happen soon… The sense of insecurity is rising. Maybe things will change rapidly?

It will all make sense after the fact.

It's a good thing that insecurity is arising from the standpoint if it weren't, the hand of our God wouldn't be so obvious, the worse it gets, while difficult in the interim, the more it will be obvious it's Jehovah who is stepping in.

It's getting hard for all of us to endure, even in sweet little NZ. But that word 'endure' wasn't put in the scripture for fun, it's there because that is exactly what we are all doing.

So proud of my spiritual family.  Keep hanging in there.
