JW Library crashes at startup

Hi Brothers,

I am running Windows 11 Home with the latest update 22H2.

My JWLIB starts up then immediately closes after 2 seconds or so.  It also throws a dump.

To whom do I report this error at the branch?

I had the same problem of JW Library crashing on Windows 11 22H2 on one PC. I tried restarting JW Library the 2nd time and it failed but started OK on the 3rd try.😅

 

No issues with JW Library on the other PC running Windows 11 22H2.

 

Since then, JW Library has been running fine on both PC running Windows 11 22H2.

Try to reset the JWL app in Windows. It will erase all files. Backup your files first.

 

After you reset it, it will not crash again.

 

I don't know if it will work on your Windows too 😅 I just tried it and it fix the JWL on my Laptop.

Similar problem was happening on my Windows 11 Surface tablet.  I checked for any available Windows updates.  I didn't need any updates but then JW Library was able to open without problems.

My JWL started doing that after I updated to 22H2 but a Windows update yesterday solved the problem. Ensure your Window updates are up to date, then reboot your computer. I would do that before you reset or reinstall any apps.

So, interesting (and perhaps pure coincidence?) that there is a bug causing crashes on Windows on the day of the Memorial.

I went into my Windows settings.  I thought about deleting and reinstalling JWLibrary, but then I decided to try reset first.  It worked fine.  When I opened JWLibrary, there was a message about changing the date to April 5, 2023.  Unfortunately, JWLibrary never opened for me to see the message.

appeared now when opening jw application on the cell phone

it asks to go back to April 05 the date

There is an update on the MS store that fixes the issue ... as was posted in the other threads about this issue

No, its a JWLibrary issue and an update from the Branch fixes the problem.
