Doesn't sharing the whole news alert breach copyright? It is the reason why I just shared a couple of main points and the link, so ones can read the whole report for themselves on the website.

https://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/2018364

...... some feel that copying and posting it on other websites or on social media is acceptable. However, doing so violates the Terms of Use ....... As is clearly stated in those Terms, no one is permitted to “post artwork, electronic publications, trademarks, music, photos, videos, or articles from this website on the Internet (any website, file-sharing site, video-sharing site, or social network).”

Thanks for bringing the copyright issue to our attention.

BTW: Some service reports are available on jw.org.

Apologies, as other posters on this forum had previously posted the entire 'news bulletin' for previous news alerts on numerous occasions without any apparent push-back, I'd presumed that such use was deemed 'fair-use', especially when it is a temporary bulletin that will be deleted in a couple of days.

As suggested, instead, below is the website link to read the OP 'news bulletin' - Highlights of 2023 Worldwide Service Year Report - in full :)

It has been brought to my attention that there is a small error in the above chart, as per the 'Announcements' that appeared in the Kingdom Ministry for January 1968, on page 7, regarding the 1967 Service Year Report - looks like someone forget to average the total figure. You may wish to update your personal copies of the 1968 Yearbook (the figure is already correct in the 1968 Watchtower Bound Volume, 1 January, pages 26/27).

Therefore below is the corrected chart :)

Please let me know if you see any other mistakes, errors, or typos....

Interesting that total hours have been included, for the last time.

What's missing?....

  • No longer is the annual spend figure in US $ given for caring for special pioneers, missionaries, and circuit overseers in their field service assignments.
  • No longer is the total number given of ordained ministers that staff the branch facilities - AKA number of Bethelites.

Being from Ireland myself,I think in both cases Northern Irelands population is included as the 2 countries are 1 region under the Briton Branch, hope that makes sense.

There has been huge increase in population in the last year with the war in Ukraine and other immigrants so a 2 million increase North and South is very possible

Thanks. Interestingly it appears that something similiar has happened before with Ireland?:

image.png.7da9cd2a093740714e010f058b2ef0b6.png

And guess what? Ireland has now had a huge population decrease - with 1.8 million taken off 🙄

Thus, adding 2023 to the chart from last year....

image.png.96ba1ef44702c2e09aa861c5dc0dea97.png

  • 2011 population of Ireland decreased by 1.7 million, with no apparent equivalency in the Britain population.
  • 2012 population of Ireland increased by 1.9 million, with no apparent equivalency in the Britain population.
  • 2016 population of Ireland decreased by 1.9 million, and the population of Britain increased by 2.2 million.
  • 2017 population of Ireland increased by 1.9 million, and the population of Britain decreased by 0.8 million.
  • 2022 population of Ireland increased by 1.9 million, with no apparent equivalency in the Britain population.
  • 2023 population of Ireland decreased by 1.8 million, with no apparent equivalency in the Britain population.

Looks like in both 2011 and 2016 they took off the population of Northen Ireland to use only the population of the Republic of Ireland, then in 2022 they thought they had to do something, and ended up adding the population of Northen Ireland, and therefore double counting it 🤷‍♂️ which has now been corrected 🤔

I presume the actual (total) publisher figures are correct - ie they haven't double counted publishers, or not counted them at all in those years - and it's just the population figures that have gone awry.....??

Just did a quick search...2022 seems a bit suspect. Not sure seems a bit high.I read somewhere it had exceeded pre famine levels of 8 million for the 1st time but the figures change about a bit depending on the source. But a 1.8 million decrease for 2023 seems very wierd. As all the official figures seems to suggest a consistent population increase including North and South.Maybe 2022 was a mistake.

Yes, that is what I thought last year, but thoughout the entire year it was not corrected on the JW.org Ireland page, until it was replaced with the updated 2023 numbers - if it was a mistake I'm sure it would have been picked up and changed by WHQ? 🤔

When introducing the new 'simplified report' at the Annual Meeting in October 2023, Brother Samuel Herd said: "This simplified report serves a valuable purpose. It will allow us to know the number of active publishers in each land. It will also help us to know whether certain territories are producing Bible studies and where there is a greater need for pioneers, special pioneers, missionaries, and Kingdom Halls.

No doubt that the last of the 144,000 seats will be filled before A-Day. What do you think? Maybe some spares? Some left as princes on the earth from day 1?

Our current understanding is that all 144,000 will have their "final sealing" BEFORE  the Great Tribulation.  No need to wait until Armageddon.  The total remaining group will be complete, checked, authorized and ready to go.

*** w20 January p. 21 “The Spirit Itself Bears Witness” ***
EXPRESSION EXPLAINED: Seal. This sealing is not made permanent until sometime before the person dies faithful or sometime before the outbreak of the great tribulation.—Eph. 4:30; Rev. 7:2-4; see “Questions From Readers” in the April 2016 Watchtower.

This is the current view.

*** w13 7/15 p. 5 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***
Paragraph 8: One of the events mentioned in these verses is the ‘gathering of the chosen ones.’ (Matt. 24:31) Hence, it appears that all anointed ones who still remain on earth after the initial part of the great tribulation has passed will at some point be raised to heaven before the outbreak of the battle of Armageddon. This adjusts what was stated on this subject in “Questions From Readers” in The Watchtower of August 15, 1990, page 30.
