It Is HOT Out There!!

Recommended Posts

First, I want to say, I am thankful I recently moved out of Las Vegas to cool Central Coast California. Why you ask?

Imagine taking the day's LOW and HIGH, adding them together and dividing by 2 for an average and still coming out with a 96.5° F Number!!!!

It's strange how California didn't get hot until you showed up. :whistling:

BTW, my central air condition compressor failed last week. We need a completely new system, and it isn't cheap

I spent a good part of my childhood in vegas, from 94-2002ish. My mom worked at the Sands then at the Rio.

We moved to SC, and let me tell you... You think Vegas is bad... Nononono. My friend come visit the south east. Its upper 90s here but i'll gladly take those 110+ vegas days over this

In Oct 1988 we were in Vegas visiting family who were Mormons(no relevance to story).  As we were pioneering and travelling around USA for 4 months our custom was service each morning and sight see in the afternoon.  Well it was so hot we managed around an hour door to door then went to the closest shopping complex and sat in the air conditioning.

Vegas year round heat sounds much like Darwin here in NT Australia.  Though Vegas is dry heat Darwin is high humidity.

Man, you sure are gonna have a hard time gambling now.🤣

I understand wanting  to get away from the  heat. Texas is hot! However , this has been a mild and not too bad spring- summer. So I guess for us in Texas to enjoy mild temps other parts of the country have to burn under high pressure heat domes. Yikes

Looks like a typical summer's day where I live.

We have had a first this year. Most of my flowers have been killed by the heat. Even the blooming cactus had to be put in the shade. It’s never been that hot in the 40 years or so we have live here. I

There was a deer in a friend’s yard, in the shade of a tree, panting away.

If we didn’t have plenty of water, it would be desperate times.

I want to age without sharp corners, and have an obedient heart!

Or you need to turn off those donut ovens.

We’ve finally had rain. We got into the severe drought category. Everything was looking brown. That’s abnormal for the southeast. Saturday service in the heat is basically barely an hour before everyone is ready for a break.

Our winter this year has been a cracker.  The last couple of weeks its like spring.  Blue sky, sun shining and around the low 20sC during the day.  Nights get down to around 8-10C.  Plants are flowering early.  We could do with some rain.
