US Election Outcome

To put it simply ... there is a saying, "How can you tell when a politician is lying - their lips are moving".

Left, right, Republican, democrat, Harris or Trump ... they are all liars.

While it is true, Jehovah destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah due to their immorality ... he condemned Satan for lying and sentenced Adam and Eve (and the rest of humanity) for believing the lie and taking what didn't belong to them - an act of disobedience.

There is no sexual immorality involved in Jehovah's actions towards Satan, Adam, Eve, Cain and Judas.

Yes, as I said all sins can be forgiven or lead to death. The death part we agree on....however, my assertion is that some sins are obviously more offensive and disgusting than other sins .....even to Jehovah.

Are you saying that is not true?

No, I'm simply saying that, to me, neither Trump nor Harris is a "better" selection for president - they are just different.

To me, since neither one is putting the Kingdom first and pointing people to Jehovah as the one who has the solution, it does not matter to me what things their supporters believe, accept, condone or promote.

To use a simple illustration/analogy:

I don't like asparagus. Can't stand the taste.

I am allergic to NutraSweet as it makes me feel quite odd.

Arsenic is a poison.

Just because asparagus and NutraSweet won't kill me like arsenic will does not mean I will start eating any of them. To me, they are all disgusting. The same is true of the politicians and their devoted, fanatical supporters - to me, they are all disgusting. Trying to assign degrees of disgust seems like rearranging the chairs on the Titanic as it slid into the icy Atlantic on its way to the bottom of the ocean.

They only run every 4 years. Many candidates have run several times. Biden has run 4 times in his career. Harris has run 2 times and she may be back.  Trump 3 times. FDR ran 4 times, Reagan ran 4 times and many others ran 3 times. So there’s nothing strange there.

Where did Harris get her money? From upstanding citizens?

LGBTQ and all the Hollywood Celebs pushing these lifestyles. Sounds like many prefer that bunch be in power. Men playing In women’s sports, in their locker rooms. etc..... They have some extreme views....and perverted. They make trump look like Snow White. They don’t even pretend to care what God or the Bible say. They ridicule religious beliefs whenever they can.

They’re guilty of the literal slaughter and murder of millions of babies and they fight for the right to continue to do that.... with ferocity.    Harris’  VP running mate T. Walz as Governor signed law in Minnesota law that permits abortions at any stage of pregnancy, without specific gestational limits.

Maybe I’m just  too “old fashioned”.  This new culture is definitely

not my cup of tea :coffee:

These are the leaders of a new Sodom and Gomorrah Culture Jesus warned we would see.

Yet many are more concerned  by Trumps morals character.

However, No worries, I think many will eventually get their wish anyway. Trump will be gone.....maybe assassinated .... The “woke" and "progressives” will get back in power and will take down religion and pave the way to Armageddon for us. All is Good!

What's wild to me is that someone who cannot even vote (since he's a convicted felon) could not only run for president, be elected by seemingly normal people, and will therefore not have to face sentencing and detention for his crimes. That a person of such obvious disdain for women, minorities.. anyone who can't do something for him, no obvious redeeming qualities and regrettable ignorance is considered a good bet to lead *anything*, let alone a powerful country... it's beyond my understanding.

Fortunately, Jehovah knows, He sees, and He will relieve us all, soon. 'Til then, I'll keep my head down and be grateful I don't really have to worry about it. 😒

WOULD ANY OF YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE PREACHING TO THESE POLITICIANS IF THEY COULD READ YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THEM FIRST?

What does neutrality mean? What does respecting the superior authorities look like? It might be a good time for some of you to take a step back. Just a suggestion.

Its so weird what politics do to people. Im currently watching friends (not witnesses) about to waste 4 years of their lives doing nothing but complaining about trump then complain that their life aint gone anywhere.

As for our brothers and sisters on here, they seem to have gotten caught up with what the world wants you to feel about someone. They probably needed the wake up call you delivered

If I were preaching to a drug addict, would I be afraid to mention the use of drugs is wrong? If I were preaching to a prostitute, would I be afraid to mention immorality is wrong?

Would I be willing to preach to a politician after they read my posts - most definitely! In fact, I have already preached to a politician since I am acquainted with one. I knew him before he was involved in politics and spoke with him after he returned from WDC the day after the fiasco after the last election.

Since I have posted that one side is no better or worse than the other side - I do not believe I have compromised my neutrality.

As to mentioning their shortcomings and/or beliefs - if I were talking to them face-to-face, I would not shy away from discussing these very subjects. I have done the same at the door with clergy. After all, the politicians and the clergy already know we do not think they speak the truth since they do not promote the Kingdom as the real solution - many of them have already read some of our literature and know we do not support their stand.

We have three prisons in our congregation territory, including the one with death row. When we preach to these convicts, we do not skirt what they have done - since it is public record, and they have been convicted of a crime, why would they be surprised if we talk about it?

The same holds true of the politicians. Their actions have been on the news, and it is public record/knowledge what they have said and done in their campaign efforts. It would come as no surprise to them that people are aware of their stand, comments and behavior when they just spent several months on TV promoting their views while criticizing their opponents' views.

Jehovah does not seem to view immoral people or LGBTQ as worse than a thief, liar or cheat. He doesn't rank sins from top to bottom, he puts them all on a level field and counts them all as just as bad as any other sin.

Actually, some sins are viewed as worse than others.  For example, we use the term "gross sin" to distinguish conduct that is more abhorrent than some other type of sin.

In the time of ancient Israel the Law said some sins resulted in being unclean for a time while other sins resulted in death.  At 1 Corinthians 5:1 Paul described a situation that was so immoral it was unheard of even among the nations.

Even today some sins have a longer consequence than others. A brother who committed immortality and was removed from the congregation may, in time, return to Jehovah and even serve as an elder. On the other hand, a brother that committed rape or child molestation may never have any appointmented position again no matter how repentant he is.

Yes, all sin results in death but some sins are worse than others.

We no doubt would use tact in witnessing to such individuals. Who among us has not been blunt with friends or family when discussing a householder or even someone in the congregation, only to use tact and season our words with salt when actually speaking to said individual?

But your counsel is sound. We all need reminded how easy it is to lose our neutrality. If we think or express an opinion that this country would have been better off with that president instead of this president, are we really neutral in our heart?

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

If a person, man or woman, is a crook in business, can I say he is a crooked businessman?  If he goes into politics, should I now say that that person is honest because he/she is in politics?  My opinion is no.  That person is still a crook.  I try not to deal with a crook in business.  And I do not support a person, crooked or honest, in politics.  But I might still say that person, man or woman, is a crook.

I’m speaking to competence not personality. Many people get very emotional and overlook basic facts.

Again, I hate to interrupt the Trump bashing party here but I was hoping it would be more about what is actually happening instead of conspiracy theories such as Trump is going to be a dictator and another Hitler.....a fascist, etc.....Worst of all he could interfere with killing babies.  I find it interesting that we keep referring to Trumps dishonesty about his personal finances....But I never  mention the blatantly immoral views of the other side. Your focus is one one person’s dishonesty when the others sides moral views are as bad....and I would say Much Worse!

For example: We all know that cheating on taxes is much worse than allowing a man claiming to be a woman to use rest rooms and locker rooms for women and girls. Right?   :shrugs:

Trump is not a typical politician, We live in a “woke" society  where everyone is racist and everything is offensive.  In contrast, he is blunt, arrogant and rude to those rude to him. He has done a great deal to expose the falsehoods the media puts out.  Most people don’t trust the media and for good reason. They are people and people are mostly bias toward their own worldviews.  Most media is left leaning. There’s no question about that. Fox New is the main one that is bias toward Trump. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC,,,,,, these all hate Trump.

If I hear a story on CNN for example...and I’m curious, I will check Fox to get the other side.  Almost always, one side will leave out certain details that can change one's perception.

None of these sources are neutral in reporting.....theres always that spin they all put on it.

The Bible writers and Jesus did not sugarcoat it when describing what people would be like in the last days. We don’t favor one politician over another, they are ALL working to stay in power more than they are working for the greater good. ALLLL of them. And yes, as Christians it is normal to express disgust when a politician is publicly known for immoral speech and acts, allies himself with false religion to gain power, and also produced and sold $60 Bibles to promote his own political campaign:

”For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal,  3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness,  4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride, lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God,  5 having an appearance of godliness but proving false to its power; and from these turn away.”

1 Tim 3:2-5

The Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus’ day weren’t politicians in the modern sense but they had a lot of authority over the people and wielded political influence. Jesus took opportunities to reason with them respectfully, and he told the crowds to “Therefore, all the things they tell you, do and observe…” but then he went on to say, “but do not do according to their deeds, for they say but they do not practice what they say.”

He did not hold back one bit speaking truth, read all of Matthew 23:

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you resemble whitewashed graves, which outwardly indeed appear beautiful but inside are full of dead men’s bones and of every sort of uncleanness.  28 In the same way, on the outside you appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.”

If this topic is going to continue I would recommend it be about prophecy related of how we are affect by the policies of rulers.....rather than just bashing one side......repeating how dishonest one person on one side is...... when you have LGBTQ+ and other ant-religious groups trying to take over the culture.....and push their immorality on children and such.

Is Trump being a shady business man is  worse than all the above immorality that the other side pushes? That tells me that these are 90% emotionally driven views based on media reports.  And many even in the truth have become conditioned to what the kooks are pushing on the culture and it’s no longer shocking.

But if someone’s personality rubs us the wrong way....it's “derangement syndrome".

The Iron aspect of the dream image refers to it strength as a world power.

The weakening factor is the  “Clay”.  We know who the clay is. Just sayin’.

The “clay”  represents internal division, instability, and the inherent weakness of human rulership. This fulfills the prophecy that the 7th WP will ultimately fail and be replaced by God’s perfect rulership.

I understand Trump is dishonest and has been sexually immoral in the past. I am only offering my view on his  competence to govern in this system vs Harris’. He has been dishonest in his personal business....but I’m speaking to his qualifications to Govern.  She is also dishonest as she has lied straight faced.....but that is to be expected......but that’s not the problem.

The main Problem is:   She is incompetent.  That is what many avoid acknowledging....I guess it’s more fun to bash Trump.

Did anyone see some of the woke women saying that because men voted for trump they will be getting no more sex. This is the mentality we’re talking about along with cancel culture.

Several popular presidents have been adulterers’ while in office. Jefferson, Harding, FDR, Kennedy, and Clinton.....all adulterers’ while serving as President....Yet they are considered by many as great rulers. Even Nixon was considered a very competent President.

That is the main point I am making....I’m not here to defend trumps sins.

So its really about the policies not the personality in this world.

By way of an intension of above comment: While what the politicians and those under them did to Jesus were despicable acts. He did show them more respect than he did to the Scribes and Pharisees.

At the same time, though, he refused to answer when there was no need to and did not water down the truth when he did feel compelled to answer.

There are a few rulers in the scriptures who although acted bad towards Jehovah and his people I felt empathy for. Like the King of Ninevah who listened to Jonah, Nebuchadnezzar, I think Jehovah had a soft spot for him, by returning the kingdom to him, Darius of course and I loved the King from Nehemiah. Can't forget the good Pharoah who elevated Joseph.

The scribes and the Pharisees were more despicable as they were out to oppose Jehovah.

So I too, would be careful about making comments about individual politicians/kings or leaders.

There is a difference between making a blanket comment about politics as a whole and a personal attack though.

I haven’t said anything about policy or anything in favor of the other candidate or any political party. I did quote Bible

prophecy! There is no candidate that is more aligned with Bible principles than any other, and none whose policies reflect Jehovah’s perfect justice. My vote stays with the Kingdom.

My thoughts are not related to what others say. I've watched Trump's rallies, debates, and interviews myself as they are broadcast- I can hear. He cannot stay on topic, barely able to utter coherent sentences, and they are so often mean, hateful and disrespectful. But it's true- that's what most seem to like and appreciate in society today.. Trump just fits the bill. Nothing to be done about it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't have to admire it, though.. 🤨
