Who wants to speculate about when the end will come?

Recommended Posts

The only thing we need to know is that "it will be on time", Jehovah's time and that "it will not be late."  To speculate as to when the end will be only leads to disappointment. Jesus said to "Keep on the Watch" and “It does not belong to you to know the times or seasons that the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction."

We cannot incite if we are not in sight.___Heb.10:24,25

Even if it shall delay.

This was a big help to me. I’ll try to stay focused on the blessings like the wonderful sisters and brothers who commented on this post. If you see any articles about enduring with joy, please, send them my way.

Lovely, I’m glad it helped. You might want to find some articles and videos in your own personal study project. I found some in Watchtower Online Library, searching on “enduring in last days” and “endurance with joy”. Just as a start.

As an example, here is an older article with a specific heading “Aids to Waiting Patiently”. It’s the same formula, and has been useful for many decades in helping us all wait and endure.

*** w70 12/15 pp. 740-741 Waiting Patiently for an End of Wickedness ***
What will help you to wait patiently for Jehovah to act and to end wickedness? One great aid is hope, based on faith. To the extent that our faith is strong our hope will be bright. To keep our hope bright we must keep refreshing our minds on God’s promises regarding the future. Another aid is to appreciate the wisdom of waiting patiently. To chafe frustratingly or to take matters into one’s own hands can only make matters worse.—Rom. 8:24, 25; 12:19.

Another great help is joy. “The joy of Jehovah is your stronghold.” Joy gives one strength. It was joy that gave Jesus Christ the strength to wait and to endure. And even as hope is built on faith, so joy is built on appreciation. To the extent that you appreciate God’s goodness, your present blessings, the pleasures of association with fellow Christians, the privileges of telling others the truths of God’s Word as Jesus did, you will have joyand be able to wait patiently.—Neh. 8:10; Heb. 12:2.

And this 10 min video “Be Determined to Endure” helps us see how our brothers in Russia and Venezuela are enduring faithfully. If Jehovah is helping them, he will help us too! Very encouraging 🌹

This seems like a good guess for the 10 kings to give their power to the beast. However, it may be that Armageddon will only come after a few years, to give time for as many people as possible to support the brothers of Christ.

If it's very long, I'll just find out after I'm resurrected.

I was saying that in 2020. Now look, 2025. Why is this system still living? All we can say now is 2030 will be the year, but I feel I would be amazed it got that far. Could you imagine 2040?

I said back in 1970 that I couldn't see the old world lasting another 40 years.  I was proven wrong in 2010.  But things are far worse now.  The end will be for me in less than 5 years.  If Armageddon doesn't come in that time frame, I expect to learn about it after the resurrection.

Look around ... you still see the slave remodeling and building new buildings. They are VERY active in the work - regardless of whether the end is tomorrow or decades away.

It has always been good to make sure we have "some" money (see this week's meeting part), but more important to store up treasures in heaven foremost. So, have a budget, live under your means (if possible) and save what you can. But definitely do NOT just spend away as if saving is unnecessary - that is the opposite of this advice.

Thank you for your response. I’m definitely saving for the future as I have a special needs adult daughter who depends on me so I’m not following my parents’ example in that area. But sometimes I have wondered if I was not trusting Jehovah enough to care for our needs so that’s why I asked what that means to other brothers and sisters.

She is one of my best motivations to serve Jehovah faithfully because I want to be able to meet her in the new system as she fully was meant to be. I have no idea what she is going to be like but I can’t wait to be able to help her learn to read. I look at it like I will already have a Bible study the day after Armageddon. ❤️

That being said, I do have concerns about what happens if my husband or I are gone in this system. I plead with Jehovah to care for her because I may not always be here and I just don’t like going there in my head about what might happen. I know he won’t let me down. We’ve instilled a love for Jehovah in her heart. She loves to go to meetings and loves to sing the kingdom songs. While unable to talk much, she can sing quite a bit and to see the smile in her face after she has sung one of our kingdom songs is the best feeling. I can only imagine how Jehovah feels when he hears her.
