WHAT 2013!!!!!!!!!!! The end is coming Dec 2012 - don't they know :lol1:

OK that's it - the end will have to wait until after this comes out

Funny - I remember saying that about the second half of the Star Wars trilogy - "the end will have to wait until that gets finished" kind of sacrilegious, eh?

But it did

PS _ i am still counting on the end coming in 2012 or 13 or 14 or 15 ......... I want to be ready

Plan ahead as if Armageddon will not come in your lifetime, but lead your life as if it will come tomorrow (w 2004 Dec. 1 page 29)

Soon .....

Henry Cavill, who is playing Superman in this movie has an imdb.com site and a wikipedia site. He is 29, with an 11 year acting record, and is engaged to equestarian show jumper Elizabeth Whitaker. He is interested in Egyptology, and would have gone on to study and get a degree in it in college if he hadn't caught the "acting bug" in prep school.

Viewers on this side of the "pond" may have seen him in the 2007-2010 series called "The Tudors", which described the goings on of that British royal family. He and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who played Henry VIII, were the only two who were featured in all of the 38 episodes of this four season series. Rated TV-MA, it is available on Netflix.

What is interesting to me is that he will be the first non-American to play Superman. He was born and raised in the island of Jersey, in the English Channel, and he is British. I would be curious to know if he can play the role with an American accent. Right after he completed "The Tudors" he was cast as the lead in a 2010 fantasy movie based on Greek mythology called "The Immortals". IMDB has a very short video clip of an interview with him Here - so that is how he sounds now. Oh, well, we have gotten used to Christian Bale as Batman, and he is Welsh, which is really not obvious until you hear him giving a thank you speech for an award!

I just saw this article posted on the Dark Horizons website...I'm definitely keen to see this when it finally arrives!!

Zack Snyder On Starting Superman Afresh

By Garth Franklin Monday August 13th 2012 10:16PM

One thing you won't be hearing in the upcoming "Man of Steel" is the iconic John Williams score from the Christopher Reeve films.

Zack Snyder tells Total Film that his "Superman" reboot is exactly that, a movie that wipes the slate clean and starts afresh - "We decided to act as if no Superman film had been made - even though we love the films that have been made. We had to say this is a Superman movie for the first time and you can't then go 'Oh, now let's steal a little music.' So, yes it's awesome music but Hans Zimmer is going to do something awesome."

Talking about the project more generally, he adds "Superman is a big responsibility but I felt he needed to be reintroduced to a generation and I thought this was a great opportunity. We have great respect for the canon. I would say it is a clashing of stories and ideas. Superman is the king-daddy of all superheroes - to make him work is a big deal. The big challenge is if you can make people feel 'What would you do if you were Superman?' That's what we went out to do as far as we could. Superman's always been this kind of big blue boy-scout up on a throne that nobody can really touch, so we tried to make him relatable."

Will this new take on Supes be ready for a possible "Justice League" movie? "We know Superman is the jewel in the DC crown. We want to get his house in order. And then? Who knows what's possible…?"

We just saw it this weekend. I liked. I liked that they didn't use the Lois doesn't know who Superman is. I always thought - she is WAY TOO good of an investigative journalist not to have figured that out. She does, but it makes the story better IMO.

Anyone who sees this in IMAX 3D should take earplugs with them. My daughter and I both used 32dB soft foam plugs through the whole movie. We didn't miss anything except permanent damage to our hearing. Please, take the earplugs even if you don't THINK  you'll need them. You might change your mind.

Taking earplugs would not be a problem since they use them at work and can get all we would need.

I'm seeing the movie in an hour and 15 minuits with my son and a brother who just turned 13...he's just recently been permitted by parents to go to PG13 movies so the boys have a PG13 all nighter planned. They actually watched like 4 straight PG13's here right after he turned 13 but there's lots of PG13 movies he needs to catch up on...lol...his siblings are younger and he can't watch them around them.

Well...off to buy some Good and Plenty...
