How did I know that the update will be today before others? About 2 nights ago I OD on chocolate and passed out. I usually float to other galaxes, but this time I float into the future and that is how I know the GB #7 update will be on this date. Enjoy.

Has JW.ORG always provided a TXT & PDF download when they post an update on the website? ...

I only noticed it in the last week when I was downloading the Pioneer Meeting Videos. This was on a PC. As the screen is bigger than my phone, it showed the options at the bottom of the list, as you mention.

I have not noticed it before. So I presume it is a recent addition, but I cannot say when it started.

I'm not complaining though...

It has been available, but it is dependent on the chrome browser, and the JW widget.

Not available on Conventions and Assemblies on Stream.

I don't think it's something JW.org provides if it relies on third-party browser extensions. I don't have an option to download TXT or PDF in connection with the GB Update video. I use Firefox as my main browser, but I checked out in Chrome and Edge as well in case it's a different experience—it was not.

I was pleasantly surprised by the option this week, but then I was on vacation last week. Didn’t know how long it had been available.

Could not see the picture before hand

Apparently the link for the image has changed.

For the previous update (039) the image is still available at the old link, but for this update (040) it’s no longer there.

Does anyone know the new link?

Has the number of participants in the emblems also decreased?

It usually goes up.

Except when it doesn't 😎 .... for example 2021 was a decrease .... but for recent years, that was an outlier .... in the meantime, as we await the 2025 figure ....

Mention of increases worldwide

As the expression goes ... "Let's put some meat on those bones" 😁😎

Jeffrey Winder: "The 2025 yeartext encouraged us to 'give Jehovah the glory due his name.' Jehovah’s people all over the world did just that. We rejoiced to see an average of 9,047,083 publishers. That represents a 2.5 percent increase."

Below we see that average publisher number in context ... I've added a red chord line joining 1947 to 2025 to help contextualise the nearly 80 years of growth ....

Jeffrey Winder: "We rejoiced to see an average of 9,047,083 publishers. That represents a 2.5 percent increase. What’s more, out of the 241 lands where we preach the good news, 96 reported all-time peaks in the number of publishers."

Wait! I wanna repeat that: "That represents a 2.5 percent increase." I'm repeating it because that is the biggest percentage increase in publishers for 15 years 😮 - since 2010 - and that's even after an impressive 2.4% increase last year, in 2024

Even if the simplified reporting procedure - AKA the 'tick box' reporting - had some part to play in this, it still seems pretty impressive 😎

(FWIW a bit of rounding is involved, so the 2010 increase was 2.533%, and the 2025 increase was 2.480%.)

Hmmm, 96 out of 241 is less than half. Not sure if they mean a peak of 'peak numbers', or a peak of 'average numbers' - a quick perusal of last year's figure indicates that it was a 'low/mid-90s' (dependig how counted) out of 241 that reported 'all-time peaks', so likely a similiar figure last year, compared to this year.  (And can't check the '33 other countries')

Jeffrey Winder: "Worldwide, there was a 1.6 percent increase in the number of Bible studies conducted last service year."

Unfortuntely no number is provided, just a percentage increase. I don't think we really normally look at this percentage 🤷‍♂️ but as it is all we've currently got, lets do it anyway .... 😎

.... because I think I can see why the FDS are promoting finding/starting Bible studies 🤔 ....

Jeffrey Winder: "And it was heartwarming to see that 304,643 were baptized during the service year. This is a 2.8 percent increase over last year.

Wow! Let's repeat that "304,643 were baptized during the service year" - this is the biggest number of baptisms for 26 years 😮 - since 1999. and only six previous years have had a higher number of baptism .... 😎

As the phrase goes: "Quality over quantity" - Yes Bible studies may be down, compared to pre-Covid, and increasing slower .... but those studies are leading to more baptisms .... 😁

(Note: baptism figures for 1956 and 1961 are not available)
