LindaL has Passed Away

Recommended Posts

I'm very sorry to hear about this, as I am always sorry to hear about one of our friends passing. On Sunday I was at a funeral close to home, a former brother I knew when I attended a French congregation. I only went for the sake of his daughter, the only one in his family still in the truth. I'm hearing a lot about friends, and friends of friends, passing, and it's so much to bear. :cry:

It looks like Linda was only about 66, so not really that old. So it reminds us: any of us could become a victim of death, which is a sobering thought. I see that Linda wrote one of her earlier posts about herself shortly after joining the forums.

We look forward to seeing her in the new world.

Sadly we are losing ones from our generation.  We(as in me) always thought we would definitely survive into the paradise but now that we are losing friends it is beginning to be a worry.  I’m 69 still fit and healthy gratefully.  A good friend recently had a heart attack and he was lucky to have survived as he had (unknown to him) 2 x blocked arteries.  1 90% the other 80%.  Had 2 stents put in.  A wake up call for him.

Oh my .. Linda was a smart wise sister .. we shared an intrest in psychology and finding ways for dear friends to cope with issues in their lives. Well another resurrection party to be planned

Zeph 3:17 Jehovah your God is in the midst of you. As a mighty One, he will save. He will exult over you with rejoicing. He will become silent in his love. He will be joyful over you with happy cries....... Love it....a beautiful word picture.

@Linda,

I know how you feel. There is a huge aging population in the U.S. and perhaps Australia as well, and this is also reflected within our organization. For example, have you noticed how many elderly and disabled brothers and sisters there are at both our circuit assemblies and regional conventions. Many of these ones have been in the truth since the '50's and 60's and are still hanging on, but succumbing to death at an alarming rate each year. I'm in my 70's and my older sister will be turning 80 in January. We were raised in the truth and neither of us thought we would ever be facing old age in this system of things, but here we are. It's a sad situation as we see these dear ones pass away and not live to see the end, as they had hoped. We have to remind ourselves, it's not about us, but the sanctification of Jehovah's name.

"Baby boomers are defined as people born between 1946 and 1964 in the post-World War II era. About 77 million Americans were born in this time period, making it significantly larger than the generations immediately before and after."

"Approximately 11,400 baby boomers will turn 65 every day in 2025. This significant demographic event, referred to as "Peak 65," indicates that around 4.18 million people will reach retirement age throughout the year."
