Gabe, a photo taken at Noosa, with a slow shutter speed for long exposure (whatever that means) on the ABC webpage today.  Tried to adjust the size but can't do,   but hey ..... enjoy

A blackbird brought it's chick to our garden today. I fed it some mealworm and it fed the chick.

I had a family of blackbirds in my yard feasting on birdseed. I always wondered why some blackbirds were so noisy when others aren't. I found out the "babies" don't stay small long and look just like it's parent very quickly. So when I saw this family I thought it was all adult birds. I was wrong. It was a family and the noisy ones were the babies which the mothers fed seed! These things were perfectly capable of feeding themselves but they scream at the parent relentlessly until the parent stuff it's mouth with food. It was amazing to me! 

They are known for being smart and I believe that too. I kept the seed out in the yard but soon saw a couple of them were starting to go toward my garden. When I reacted and got after them for getting in there I only had to act twice, they never went back to the garden.

Two days of our very active daughter and our two very active granddaughters left me a little tired!

It's 32 C here we are melting ........must be cooler in Jolly old England Christopher ! Take your coat off your makin me feel pretty warm!

Wish it would go down into the 80's (F) even if it was 89 F - it would be cooler then it has been.

Been hot here as well. Lettuce needs protecting from the sun. Arms got burnt today cleaning the outside furniture. 

 

Christopher, are you an artsy type of person, you have hands of an artist. (Did that sound weird? Sorry.) But really you have the hands of a sculptor or artist or pianist.

We had gone straight from the meeting to a park and the sun was behind clouds, then to Twickenham Beach (A sandpit beside the Thames at Twickenham!) where the girls could play. Afterward we went to an Italian Restaurant and then onto Twickenham Green, where those pics were taken. It was a bit warmer by then, but not so hot that a jacket was unusual, especially in the shade of the trees.

I watched a little of a local Sunday League cricket match on the Green.

It was a surprise visit, and we'll see them again in September.

I'm not sure about artists hands, though. i am not the least bit arty (although I did have some piano lessons as a child).
