The Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Committee held a virtual meeting in July to discuss public service broadcasting. This meant very little to Rojo, the fluffy ginger cat that interrupted his owner,  M.P. John Nicolson, on camera.

When Nicolson was chatting with the chief executive of ITV, Rojo decided to make an appearance. The M.P. wanted to know why children’s programming didn’t always have subtitles, a feature that was shown to improve literacy, but Rojo didn’t care.

Rojo lingered for quite sometime before Nicolson got fed up.

“Rojo, put your tail down,” he said swatting the curious cat away.

Our back patio was 118 degrees yesterday. It's incredible and seldom happens. To understand how hot it was here's a look at one of our shrubs, poor baby. It got burnt!!!

I do Lee, it was on full force, no choice. It was so hot I actually turned it on, unusual for me.

My plants were so wilty. So glad we had an ocean on shore flow today, much cooler.

I grew up in southern Michigan, about 30 miles south of Detroit, we didn't have air until my mother remarried when I was 11, it was a large window unit my step father installed, I slept upstairs in a finished attic with no air, had a window fan only, it really only got hot 1-2 weeks out of the summer, most did not have central air back in the 50's!

My wife and I visited in Seattle area.  I was told that most houses do not have AC.

They are setting new heat records.  Portland was 108, then 112, then 115 on 3 consecutive days.  I think the normal temperature this time of year is in the low 70's there.

On the ocean we usually average 75 or so, depends how far from the water you are. But Seattle and Portland get very hot, 90 to 100 fairly often.

I'm still in shock at that shrub being burnt like that, from the sun no less.

I was just using the numbers that I saw on the weather forecast.  The weatherman said that the normal temperature for the end of June was 73.

I just looked out the back patio and noticed that the sun had burnt not only the shrub in the front but my Hydrangea and other shrub as well! Look at that poor hydrangea!! A crisp! I'm gonna have to prune at least 2 of the 3 back. 😳

118 degrees is no laughing matter!
