If you notice the green light in the lower center, that's called green flash. The green flash is the result of looking at the sun through a greater and greater thickness of atmosphere as you look lower and lower in the sky. Water vapor in the atmosphere absorbs the yellow and orange colors in white sunlight, and air molecules scatter the violet light. That leaves the red and blue-green light to travel directly toward you. Tugboat at sunrise on the Columbia River.

Trojan Park, where there used to be a nuclear reactor. If you are familiar with the Simpsons TV show, this plant was the inspiration. The reactor tower was demolished May 21, 2006.

I skated in St Helen's when they had a roller rink there toward old Town and I've picnicking at trojan....before it was torn down. Loved all the ducks and geese it had. I'm loving all these pictures Gregg, I really should take a road trip. I'd like to tour through Goble, haven't done that in about 30 years.

Yup MB, @DancesWithWife been there. I went shortly after it was built as well as going to the old one, I went to the 2 locations in Longview before they were merged as well. I worked on the Seaside KH build and join their meetings frequently as my spiritual mother is there and I'm still close to some in Astoria, most have either died or moved. Boy I'm feeling old.

What an unusual fish that lives in the Columbia River and the ocean. This prehistoric fish is native to the Columbia River Basin and is culturally significant to Native American tribes.

Pacific lampreys spend the majority of their lives as larvae and juveniles living in Northwest streams for three to seven years before migrating out to sea.

Adult lampreys have a sucker-like mouth that allows them to be parasitic while in the ocean. They attach to fish and marine mammals for feeding.

There is nothing like a gathering around a fire with some friends. This was over 8 years ago (20th June 2015) when we had some in the congregation over our place. The heat from the fire was that hot, they had to seat themselves on the dam wall and if they went any further back, they would be in the dam water.

This was what was left the next day.

Then on the 26th it looked as this.

Then it finally extinguished on the 2nd July it looked as this.

Then on the 17th Septmber 2016 we were at it again, but slightly further away from the dam wall.

The next morning it looked like this (the previous bonfire the year before can be seen with a tuff of dark green grass).

Later that day, it bucketed some rain, thus giving us a smoking volcano.

The on the 10th October 2016, it finally extinguished which took about 3 weeks to do. And you can see behind another bonfire pile had been started to be built.

It may have something to do with taking an animal out of it's natural habitat and putting it in a cage. We had a dog we put in a cage at home while we were ar work..she about destroyed the plywood floor! As I look back on it I feel a lot of regret..we should never had a pet if we couldn't be there with it..🤨

Both My wife and I have health issues preventing us from work. So we are always home. He only is alone at night.

I often sit besides the cage when reading on my tablet.

Otherwise I agree. Animals shouldn't be left alone all day only to be enjoyed a few hours in the evening imo.

Every day gets to run around in our bathroom so that he can get rid of his energy. They really need it.

When Debbie and I were first married, I would often dance with her in unusual spots. One time we were in Grand Haven, Michigan as we were crossing the street I heard swing music, so I gave Debbie a little spin.

Another time, we were in the Goodwill in Grand Rapids, Michigan and another favorite dance song came on. So, naturally I started dance with her. One of the managers, a nice lady said we were really cute, but she was tempted to cut in! She said it was nice to see a husband express his love for his wife publicly.

One time I was being silly and dancing with Debbie at home while our great granddaughter was there. She said, "me too, me too!"
