Being one who lives on the Columbia River at its mouth and seeing the 'car carriers' .....believe it. The ships are massive.

Here's an interesting video that talks about how these giant ships are loaded and the logistics it takes.

Of all the ships that go along the Columbia River I like the workhorse of the river, the tug. These are incredibly powerful ships. We're going to try and take a tugboat ride in Astoria this coming summer, depending on our health.

As soon as the temperature dropped to where it started with a 3 and the first flake of snow hit the ground, we were like "NOPE!!  We'll come back to this place in MAY!!"  😂

Snow is beautiful except when your 550 miles from home and the heavy bedsheet is falling from heaven requiring chains most of the way. Try waiting that out for better conditions in december.

I remember the day, the hour, exact time when I found out my grandfather died. I was 9 years old, and he lost his life to cancer. It was a Tuesday. I didn't go to school that day. It was 10:30 am when I saw my Aunt and Uncle pull into the driveway. Without even waiting for them to come to the door, I ran to my room and cried. I knew he had died.

3 years later I was listening to Neil Diamond perform a song called Morningside, that made me miss him and I began to weep. I seemed to be the only grandchild that missed him. From that day forward I promised to keep his memory alive. At times it was a burden. But I am glad I did. The lyric that Neil Diamond wrote is on the headstone. I miss you grandfather.

When I saw his youngest brother after I got divorced in 1995, as I walked in the door my Uncle Paul swore it was it was his brother Ray walking through the door, my grandfather.

My burden was less heavy when in 2006, I visited his grave for the last time. As I visited, I read John 5:28.29 crying my eyes out. I said I am not coming back until you are resurrected. I am keeping that promise, because I know Jehovah keeps his.  He had an unmarked grave and it had to be dug up to uncover his name. This picture was from that visit. I miss you Grandfather Ray.

Or could be just snowmen falling, unassembled..
