Favorite Beer?

Recommended Posts

I remember many years ago there was a depth charge.  This was a beer with a shot of spirits sitting on the bottom (in the shot glass).  Also I used to have a beer with a a few drops of lime cordial added.  Also like stout and lemonade.  Of course occasionally enjoy a shandy, which is beer and lemonade.

I tried a Shandy a few years back and hated it. I’m willing to try one again but I would need a recommendation before being willing to give another go. Lol

Jer 29:11-“For I well know the thoughts I am thinking toward you, declares Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not calamity, to give you a future and a hope.”

Psalm 56:3-“When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.”
Romans 8:38-”For I am convinced...”

A good shandy takes some patience and experimentation.

Firstly, you may need to work out whether your lemonade is really sweet or a low tone sweet. With regards to the beer, it depends on the brew itself, what style/type and the bitterness of the hops, where the beer is a dry, and also its aromas as well. Then there is the ration of beer to lemonade to work out as well.

I would try firstly recommend a lager or a pilsner beer (actually a pilsner beer is a lager beer) and most probably use an European one if you can. Then pick a lemonade that is not too sweet, as the sweetness can conflict with the hops, thus you are receiving that weird taste. But you may need to try and test even some locally produce beers to see if they work better to your needs. Perhaps even adding a slice of lemon or lime may add a difference to it as well.

Here in Australia, my grandmother generally had shandies during summer, which she used either a Heineken or Grolsch lager with a Shelley (now Kirks) lemonade, as a 50/50 mix. Kirks lemonade had a less sweetness taste compared to that of Sprite. Schweppes lemonade would be the closest to our what Kirks is, and I am not sure whether you may have it over there in the USA. So you may need to taste various beers and lemonades to get your right combo.
