I see it is now available in Kongo!

Kongo or Kikongo, is the Bantu language spoken by the Bakongo and Bandundu people living in the tropical forests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of the Congo and Angola. The vast majority of present-day speakers live in Africa. There are roughly seven million native speakers of Kongo, with perhaps two million more who use it as a second language. - From Wikipedia

This revised translation will benefit around 340,000 publishers in these three countries mentioned above.  ^_^

A letter was just read last night mentioning that brother Splane will be visiting Portugal next 11/01/2015 and we'll be all joining by streaming

Since we already had our zone visit early this year, I'm convinced that this will be specially to launch the RNWT in portuguese from Portugal :D

Don't know if there are other portuguese members that share my sentiment... ;)

I'm pretty excited right now :)

Nothing yet here in Angola, since we also expect the Portuguese from Portugual Edition....

We had also our zone visit early this year on January...

Please, João, keep in touch with any latest news..

Now announced:  Chitumbuka!

> :D<

The Tumbuka language is a Bantu language which is spoken in parts of MalawiZambia, and Tanzania.

The language of the Tumbuka people is called chiTumbuka — the chi- marker in front of Tumbuka means "the language of the", and is understood in this case "the language of (the Tumbuka people)". This marker is similar to shi- in shimaorese- (si- in some parts of this language area) in seTswana / siTswana or ki- in kiSwahili, and iki- (or ki-) in Ikinyarwanda / Kinyarwanda, among several examples.

The World Almanac (1998) estimates approximately 2,000,000 Tumbuka speakers exist in the aforementioned three countries.

Yeah!!!!

I´d forget the data of the program...

I´m anxious to know whether we will have the portuguese Bible edition or not.

Unfortunately I don't have the same expectation now... It appears we won't have the bible release :(

We're 3 days from the program and there are no boxes, no letters...nothing previewing such an event

In addition one member of the branch commit y, who was nearby for a KH dedication, told to one friend that the work is late and it won't be for this year or the beginning of next one...

Just don't know why this special program... maybe brother Splane had some special matter to take care in Portugal and they saw a good opportunity for a special discourse...

Sad news! :(

At the same time, the visit of a Governing Body member is always cause for satisfaction. :) Surely you will pass a good time!

The official explanation for brother Splane visit to the Portuguese branch is a new arrangement where bethel families received shepherding visits from representatives of the Governing Body.

Nevertheless, if the revised version of the new world translation is not announced during the visit, we still expect new and exciting news.

Can you order the Portuguese Revised NWT in Portugal?  I know you can't order in here in the UK, even though there are Brazilian Portuguese brothers.  This leads me to believe that there will be a Portugal Portuguese version.  If the RNWT was made available to order now, then many Portugal Portuguese brothers would request it, not knowing that soon another Portuguese NWT would be released, and end up with two editions of the RNWT.

we were advised to not order it specifically because we would get our own translation in portuguese from Portugal. Brother Splane joked about it when he started the talk that was the first thing he said: "First of all I want to clarify that I won't be announcing the new bible... that will be for another occasion. I don't want you to pass all the time of the talk thinking 'get on with it, we just want you to go to the announcement'"... In fact that sentence, although with a bitter taste for the ones still hoping allowed for the complete attention on the speech and to fully enjoy the exquisite taste of the talk :)
