We have all the study articles up until the end of the year.  If I wanted to stir things up, I would say its because a change is coming in 2027.  But I don't, so I won't say it.  😃

I was expecting that too, Brother John, as well as Br. Sanderson’s talk, which presented Jehovah’s protection at Armageddon as some sort of novelty, even though we were all convinced of it. I was hoping for a study that delves into the precise moment, during the Great Tribulation, when that protection would be fully and completely effective.

 

Well, I think we can start mourning; it seems we’ll have to settle for the spoken talks, because new ones are in the works. The AM 2026 is just three and a half months away... Time is flying by.

WOL is very useful too and it can work offline as well but extremely limited.

I’m currently using Crossover to run WT Library and a few other ‘legacy’ apps. I guess I will need to dual-boot MacOS 27/28 from September 2027, or maybe run a VM etc. (If the latest bells & whistles are worth the hassle.)

I use UTM to run Windows 11 in my MacBook Air (M3) and I use WT Library just fine

We used Akamai service for many years but after Amazon offered AWS in 2009 (at a good price I assume) we branched out to use much of their delivery package.

 

So the content you see on Broadcasts and Updates and similar digital information is uploaded to one of these services and they redistribute it around the world using their 'server farms' or data centers to get it to your locality.

What is "CDN" ?

 

CDN is the initials or abbreviation for Content Delivery Network.  It is composed of a company who has many servers (server farms) around the world (such as 100 countries).  They sell the ability to take your digital data at one point (input) and then post it or share it with their servers and release it around the world according to your instructions.  It is 'cloud based' information distribution on a very large scale.  Akamai is one company, Amazon got into the game around 2009.  The Watchtower Society has used both of the companies.

 

When a monthly broadcast is finalized, it is sent to the CDN company with instructions as to when and how it is to be released.  The CDN company shares it with their 50-100 server locations around the world.  At the appointed time the simultaneously release the material.  Then they monitor the release.  When you request access, the CDN identifies your location and releases the data from the nearest server to you.  If one server is getting bogged down with too many requests, the CDN company will reroute the request to a more distant server with less load for a quicker response.

I know how the distribution system works and that it is currently a purchased service. I also knew that we used to use Akamai and that now we use AWS - I just didn't know what the letters "CDN" stood for. Now I know it stands for Content Delivery Network
