<<When questioned, one of the court-appointed experts further defended her original claim by stating that the NWT cannot be considered a Bible unless it is marked “by the blessing of the patriarch” or matches word for word with such a translation.>>

Whaat?!

:?

I can see that the injustice of the Russian justice system has no limits.

This was a new requirement. And an odd one. Why would we need a Bible blessed by the head of some other faith? Ridiculous!

Thesauri,

Would Russian church need a permission from our head office to keep their Synodal Translation of the Bible in their churches? Answer is obvious! They just found unreasonable reason to ban our Bible to hurt our feelings. We just need to let Jehovah to deal with their justice system. Jehovah will do things in his style. :) We know that for sure.

I think that it's interesting that Russia has the oldest complete Masoretic manuscript available and that Codex was used to make the base translations that were used to make the NWT. So the NWT descended from the Leningrad Codex, which has the Tetragrammaton in it and yet Russia refuses to recognize the NWT because it uses Jehovah's name...

*** nwtsty A3 How the Bible Came to Us ***
Through the centuries, scribes meticulously copied these books. During the Middle Ages, a group of Jewish scribes known as the Masoretes carried on that tradition. The oldest complete Masoretic manuscript is the Leningrad Codex, which dates from 1008/1009 C.E.

*** Rbi8 p. 6 Introduction ***
HEBREW TEXT: The Masoretic Hebrew text used for the preparation of the English text of the Hebrew Scripture portion of the New World Translation was the Codex Leningrad B 19A (of U.S.S.R.), as presented in R. Kittel’s Biblia Hebraica (BHK), seventh, eighth and ninth editions (1951-55). An update of this work known as Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS), 1977 edition, was used to prepare the footnote apparatus of this 1984 edition. Italicized words designated as “Heb.” are transliterated from BHS.

*** Rbi8 p. 1561 1A The Divine Name in the Hebrew Scriptures ***
The text located in the U.S.S.R., namely, the Codex Leningrad B 19A, used for Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS), vowel-points the Tetragrammaton to read Yehwahʹ, Yehwihʹ and a number of times Yeho·wahʹ, as in Ge 3:14.

Top right hand column, first word, right to left.

How about top left column, 7th row down, middle of the line?

You are both correct. Any more instances?

Mind you, this is an important manuscript owned by and located in Russia, and a prime example of how Jehovah’s name has been preserved.

What part of the Bible are we looking at? (any Hebrew readers here?)

Up in the right hand corner (you read Hebrew from right to left, as you maybe know), it starts with the second part of Deuteronomy 4:35: “Jehovah is the true God; there is no other besides him.”

They just tried to kill 2 of their own spies in Great Britain.  The word injustice is nothing to them.  They live injustice day in and day out.  Why they even kill their own.
