Just fyi -- the website has some updates made to it. I'd say that it easier to find what you're looking for, by adding drop-down menus to aid in navigation and making the site more comfortable to use. Larger font size as well.

Check it out.

Old and New Website in picture.

The readability is improved for sure. The whole website seems more touch friendly. I was actually just wondering the other day whether or not they would continue updating the usability of the site, or if they had settled on the previous iteration.

Someone mentioned Chromecast but I have not found that as yet.  Could you please tell me where to look on the site?

The Chromecast feature only works if you are using the Google Chrome Browser. (I believe). If so, it will appear as long as you are connected to the same network as your Chromecast.

This is also where the airplay icon appears if you have an airplay device on your network.

I imagine that cast icon would show up if you have anything on the same network that you can cast to, like Roku or a smart TV perhaps?

I was perusing the American Sign Language version of JW.ORG and I noticed this pleasant change

2018-04-13.thumb.gif.d8bd6eafb8d315db1d8e3c87bcb6d3ed.gif

In case you don't notice, it's all of the little icons for each section: HOME, BIBLE TEACHINGS (my fav), Memorial, etc.

I think this is super cool. However, it's not on the English site.

That being said, I remember when the WOL first added those nifty icons for Bible, Publications and Daily Text, it was actually added to the ASL version (i think a few weeks) before they added it to English. This could be the same for these new icons.

This is to assist all of our beloved sign language family members who aren’t fluent in written script, or have trouble understanding whatever written language the people around them use. Written English, for instance, does not correspond to sign language.

Yes, we have to keep in mind that, just because someone can use American Sign Language (or any other sign language) does not necessarily mean they can read English (or any other language). It often depends on when they went deaf. If they were deaf before learning to read or write, they may never have learned to read or write.

That's true. I was working with a brother in service once who "spoke" American Sign Language (in French), and we met a deaf person. The two had no trouble communicating in ASL. Then the brother presented to him one of our magazines, which had a title such as "No more suffering," or something like that. Even though I couldn't understand the sign language, the householder was gesturing something like "More suffering?" And the brother had to explain what it really meant.

I'm wondering what the householder got out of the rest of the magazine.
