In terms of this, or any other conflict between nations during these last days, there is only one way "to think about". That is the way Lot thought about what was going on in his day:

 

"And he rescued righteous Lot, who was greatly distressed by the brazen conduct of the lawless people— for day after day that righteous man was tormenting his righteous soul over the lawless deeds that he saw and heard while dwelling among them."  2Pet.2:7-8
