i love to read that the earth may not be the only habitable earth.. I thought about that  that even before. Why would the milky way galaxy has billions of planets if its not going to be inhabited?

True sis, yet in this solar system, many of our planets protect the Earth from harm and not in a inhabited zone. We have a lot to learn in the NW about other planets and can we inhabited them.

If I was a leader of a nation like Ukraine I would not be in favor of giving any of my territory up to another country, either.

What I'm surprised hasn't happened (and maybe this is how a Trump deal will work) is that Russia pays Ukraine for the right to use Crimea or access to the Mediterranean. Make it a business transaction. Why does Russia want the territory they seized? Would they be willing to pay for the right to use it?

I wonder if the angels felt that way about Earth. Did they feel like it was pointless to create a place that wasn't for the angels, themselves? Perhaps we are being self-centered by thinking everything in the physical universe should be ours. Maybe He created it for another purpose that has nothing to do with us.

My understanding is they want to use the territory as a buffer zone against NATO aggression.

Aside from religiously-based reasons, so many wars are fought over resources and 'land grabs'. How sad from Jehovah's viewpoint. The ones in power enrich themselves, the poor usually the most vulnerable in the devastation caused by the 'collateral damage', and the young die in the battle.

I suspect that is secondary. Or political double talk.

After all, how can they claim it as their territory and also claim it is a buffer between NATO and their territory? By definition it can't be both.

I could understand threatening/convincing Ukraine to stay out of NATO. As long as Ukraine is independent, then it could be a buffer between the two.

All of them? Almost all of them? Any war in which one nation invades another and sets up control over that newly acquired territory is a war fought over resources or land grab, no?

The NATO issue is the entire basis of the war. NATO has been inching closer to Russia for years despite promises they wouldn't. The US has been threatening to let Ukraine into NATO, which is a similar threat to Russia as the Cuban missile crisis was to the US - which also led to conflict.

Russia wants to make sure there is literal distance between missile sites and Russia. Occupying Ukraine and keeping it free of enemy missiles would accomplish that goal.

@Shawnster I guess my point is more to do with Jesus' instructing his disciples, that there are no longer any 'justified' reasons for war in God's eyes. We are blessed in our day to understand it was never God's will for humankind to war against one another. All the more so the case now for the people called by His Name.

I think most people we meet in our ministry understand that the so-called 'Rules of War' are no longer reliable for a 'fair' fight—even if ever they actually were really reliable (i.e., rules by international agreement that only combatants fight and kill other combatants, rules for treating P.O.W.'s humanely, etc.) And as we all plainly see—in the Truth or not—how thanks to advances in modern weaponry (and the vast documentary evidence of their effects) that wars have caused untold increases in human suffering. Even aside from using WMD's, the so-called 'conventional weapons' of war have increased the amount of infrastructure destroyed, the number of lives lost, the number of civilian refugees—so much so that the scale of suffering is so heart-breaking to even try to grasp.

We were already there. Russia was paying a kind of "rent" to Ukraine for a big naval base hosting Russian Black sea fleet in the years before annexation of Crimea. Clearly they didn't see that as good enough anymore after more pro-russian Ukrainian president was removed. Actually this Russian base in Crimea was used to provide "little green men" that started to occupy government buildings in initial stages of Crimea takeover.

Trump is a business man and California is now the 4th largest economy in the world. 40-50% of imports for the US come in from LA. Almost 900 miles of Pacific dominance gone. But then again he’s bankrupt 5+ business. Time will tell. 🤣🤣

Interesting 🤔 about all religions watch to end 🔚

Matthew 5:46,47 For if you love those loving you, what reward do you have?

Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? And if you greet your brothers only, what extraordinary thing are you doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing?💜🤎🖤
