my personal experience is that “Native Americans” call themselves…Indians.

That’s usually because the (very old and poorly worded) laws call them that. They very rarely prefer that term. In addition, you guys seem to be mostly thinking about the natives of the people of the land now called USA, whereas the original peoples on the lands now called Canada prefer the term “First Nations.” And I believe the natives tribes in what is now Mexico have other terms.

Generally they prefer being called more precisely by their tribal name (Inuit, Nahuatl, Cherokee, etc)

Being an international board, some members here may not understand that.

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

We will have the Lords Evening Meal as long as anointed are left on the earth. After the last of the anointed are taken to heaven, there will no longer be a need for this event.

Every year since the Covid-19, I see the Memorial as the last one. So, last one was the last one before Armageddon for me. But if we're still around by April 2nd, 2026... that's the last Memorial!

Actually, I feel very excited, anxious, every Oct, Nov and Mar-Apr. A lot of great things had happened in those months in Theocratic history. Why not expect another thrilling event to occur in any of these months?

Any day now!

Are we like BOTH of these couples? What do you think? I believe I do, to some extend.

If we are like both couples, we nerd to work harder to not be like the top couple.

What lesson is the Slave teaching us?

One thing is: To be modest when considering prophecy and pay more attention to ourselves than to world events (2Pe 3:11-13).

BE BALANCED WHEN WATCHING WORLD EVENTS

4. Why should we be interested in seeing how current world events are fulfilling Bible prophecy?

4 For good reason, we are interested in seeing how current world events are fulfilling Bible prophecy. For instance, Jesus provided a list of specific events to help us know when the end of Satan’s system is drawing near. (Matt. 24:3-14) The apostle Peter encouraged us to pay attention to the fulfillment of prophecy so that our faith will remain strong. (2 Pet. 1:19-21) The last book of the Bible begins with the words: “A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place.” (Rev. 1:1) So we have a keen interest in current world events and in knowing how they may fulfill Bible prophecy. And we may be eager to discuss such events with one another.

Contrasting scenes showing how two different couples react to current world events. 1. A couple watch a news report on TV about a peace treaty between world leaders. Later, they share their strong opinions with two sisters at a Kingdom Hall. 2. A different couple watch a Governing Body update. Later, they witness to a man who has approached a public witnessing cart.

When discussing Bible prophecy, what should we avoid and what should we do? (See paragraph 5) b

5. What should we avoid, but what should we do? (See also pictures.)

5 When discussing Bible prophecy, however, we should avoid speculating. Why? Because we would not want to say anything that could cause disunity in the congregation. For instance, we may hear world leaders talk about how they can solve a particular conflict and bring peace and security. Instead of speculating that such a statement fulfills the prophecy at 1 Thessalonians 5:3, we need to keep up-to-date with the latest published information. When we base our discussions on material published by Jehovah’s organization, we help the congregation to remain united “in the same line of thought.”—1 Cor. 1:10; 4:6.

6. What lessons can we learn from 2 Peter 3:11-13?

6 Read 2 Peter 3:11-13. The apostle Peter helps us to keep a balanced view when considering Bible prophecy. He urges us to “keep close in mind the presence of the day of Jehovah.” Why? Not because we want to work out the “day and hour” when Jehovah will bring Armageddon, but because we want to use the time we have left to perform “holy acts of conduct and deeds of godly devotion.” (Matt. 24:36; Luke 12:40) In other words, we want to maintain upright conduct and make sure that our efforts in Jehovah’s service reflect our deep love for him. To keep that focus, we must pay attention to ourselves.

The last information that we got concerning the "one thought" Jehovah puts into the hearts of men (in charge) is that it will be sudden.  Even though we are waiting for it, the timing of it might surprise even us.  We are all looking for something in the news that could indicate the nations want to give the UN unprecedented authority but that Question from Readers helps us to appreciate that we won't see anything that will directly lead up to it probably.  The US prides itself on being a country based on religious freedom and it's president claims to be "christian" and he's obviously power hungry - so why would he give his authority to an institution he can't stand (UN) and has wanted to pull out of? JEHOVAH! That is why. I doubt that many of these countries leaders will know what the UN plans to do with that newfound authority (getting rid of religion) but at that point, it will be too late.  Jehovah is now in control and Satan's system is about to go down permenantly.

Don't live for the moment - live for the future! :D

I do not know if I have irrational behavior during the GT if I running out on chocolate.

Not trying to change the topic, but have you tried Buc-ee's OverBite chocolates????

Dude, those are AMAZING!  I have a new favorite treat.  Almost crosses over into addiction territory...  :whistling::sweat:  After I had one for the first time last week, I picked up 2 of each flavor (for a total of 8) to enjoy until next vacation.  😁

Wow, Trump really criticized the United Nations at the General Assembly speech today.  He accused the UN of not living up to it's promise and even accused it of bringing on more problems.  "What is the purpose of the United Nations?" Trump asked.  "It has such tremendous, tremendous potential.  But it's not even coming close to living up to that potential.  For the most part, at least FOR NOW (the all caps are mine), all they seem to do is write a really strongly worded letter and then never follow that letter up.  It's empty words and empty words don't solve war.  The only thing that solves war and wars is action."  I guess the teleprompter stopped working during his speech and he started speaking his mind about the UN.  Teleprompter stopped working? or was there interference from above? Haha!

Think I'll go write some letters about the End to War now.

Will we have the Lord's evening meal during the Great Tribulation? In my opinion, for Jehovah to finally seal the last anointed ones, there would have to be a final celebration. After the evening meal, Armageddon will come.

The anointed will be sealed before the GT starts. We may or may not have a Memorial during the GT - it won't affect the timeline.

Looks to me like Trump is 'planting' that thought this very day in his speech to the UN.

He basically gave a 'Give 'em-hell-Harry' speech to move them to do more for the world's prosperity.

Today's speech to the UN in a nutshell:

(1) He says [the UN] is not living up to its full potential, they could be doing a lot more ...

(2) ... and that the U.S. is behind them 100%

BTW

That expression "Give 'em hell, Harry!" came to be a nutshell term to describe Harry S. Truman's approach to politics.

is a famous slogan for President Harry S. Truman that originated from his 1948 presidential campaign when a supporter yelled it out, and Truman responded, "I don't give them Hell. I just tell the truth about them, and they think it's Hell". The phrase, meaning to "give someone a hard time" or attack them fiercely, became a lifetime slogan for Truman and his supporters, representing his blunt, humorous, and direct approach to politics.

Watch this video from 1:17 to 5:18.

It answers the question of when Jehovah will take all the anointed to heaven.

There are many comments on this topic. But they can be divided into two groups:

The first group: Those who follow events and see every world event as the beginning of the GT

The second group: They watch events, but do not see signs in every event as the beginning of the GT. On the contrary, they analyze the information and think about how it will affect the future.

That is exactly what the brothers on the Governing Body do. They watch events and analyze them. That is why the Bible calls them the Faithful and Discreet Slave.

I'm not talking about them going to heaven, but being sealed. Those are separate events.
