For some reason it did not expand.

It's a talk from Gutterez, the UN head, wishing for peace, as the summit of the Future is almost here.

The accompany videos are quite startling, showing the suffering of people in war torn places. Somehow after seeing these images so often, we seemed to become inured to the misery of these unfortunate souls

Spoiler
Quote

"Everywhere we look, peace is under attack. From Gaza, to Sudan, to Ukraine and beyond we see: Civilians in the firing line; Homes blown apart; Traumatised, terrified populations who have lost everything – and sometimes everyone.

Same old drivel while the world totters from one disaster to another. Let Thy God's kingdom come, Thy will be done

Daydream -

Scientists have discovered that daydreaming is an important tool for creativity. It causes a rush of activity in a circuit, which connects different parts of the brain and allows the mind to make new associations.

It's today and tomorrow.

The General Assembly approved the summit's main outcome document — a 42-page “Pact of the Future” — on Sunday morning with a bang of the gavel signifying consensus by Assembly President Philémon Yang, after the body voted 143-7 with 15 abstentions against considering Russian-proposed amendments to significantly water it down.

The pact is a blueprint to address global challenges from conflicts and climate change to artificial intelligence and reforming the U.N. and global institutions. Its impact will depend on its implementation by the assembly's 193 member nations.

Oh dear. I'm cross-eyed, upside down, and removing all the little words but it still doesn't make any sense to me. Have an explanation? Political junk is generally a foreign language to me.

Thats the most political. Saying nothing spit of words.  Promises promises that many conspiracy poeple are saying there is an exact opposit goals to these.

Biggest weird thing i saw was young poeple being involved in decision making.

The other one will get me in hot water.  But this group has been inpowered as such they are 90% of my companies managers and apparently they need more power...lol

Can.t tell you how much condesention i get from this group.

Humility humility humility.  Everyone needs to feel everyone is greater then them. Well my opinion.  But getting authority bent isn.t theocratic.  Jesus said no leaders cause christ is. All you are brothers. And the new saying sister under Christ leaves an even standing.  Jesus is king forever but he gives it back to the father....  So i.m not sure why everyone focuses on authority.

Had a browse of the "Pact For the Future" pdf and did a search on it for "religion" - 2 results ,and "religious" - 6 results.

In Section 23 the 2 mentions of religion are found in:

...."Observing that many existing national legal systems, as well as some cultures and religions, seek to safeguard the needs and interests of future generations and promote intergenerational solidarity, justice and equity,"...

..."We reaffirm that terrorism and violent extremism conducive to terrorism cannot and should not be associated with any religion, civilization or ethnic"
group."..

But what caught my eye below the above, was the paragraph

"(a) Implement a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to prevent and combat terrorism and violent extremism conducive to terrorism, including by addressing the drivers of terrorism, in accordance with international law;"

Whole of government and whole of society approach could easily morph into some sort of declaration against religion in general. At least that's how I saw it, after reading the wording surrounding the 8 instances in the document mentioning religion.
