To be fair, to anyone who died before motion pictures, seeing *anyone* in any sort of film will be a challenge. But I think most will have been familiar with the concept of characters acting a part on a stage; plays and the like are very old entertainment.

 

Once they get over the "magic of cinema", our dramas might not be too difficult to grasp.

True, but it would still be a major burden. Jesus isn't just another character, he's the Son of God. Could you imagine this poor brother walking through a street and some newly resurrected ones bow down to him and weep? That could be a major stumbling block, especially because it would persist for centuries. I really hope he's anointed; then it wouldn't matter if people thought he was Jesus, he would be just as far away as the real one.

I imagine that most of us will never see that brother walking down the street - unless we live in his neighborhood. Anyone who knew Jesus lived in Israel, right?

 

Also- I believe that most people know that actors are not the people they portray. If not, it would be clearly explained. Plus - what are the chances Aussie Jesus looks identical to the real Jesus beyond being a human adult male?

 

I mean, if Aussie Jesus must be anointed, so be it. But I don't imagine any trouble for him whatsoever if he is not. Certainly not from the fainting resurrected public. Frankly, that brother probably has more aggravation now, in current life, once someone gets wind of who (and where) he is.

And they'll never make a mistake ever? A huge chunk of humanity worshiped chunks of wood. Catholics are notorious for graven images. You can't imagine someone seeing a poster of the Drama indicating he is Jesus before they've been given the speech that he's just an actor? You can't imagine anyone getting swept away when they unexpectedly run into him, forgetting for just a moment that he's "just an actor" and bowing out of respect? You can't imagine someone like Atxi from an ancient Aztec tribe not easily understanding the concept of movies and needing to be told several times that this is not the man who performed miracles, he's just an actor and those were "special effects", not real miracles? Even if it only happened a few times a year, that could be a major stumbling block for his humility.

Since almost everyone who saw him will either be in heaven or never resurrected, that couldn't be less relevant to my point. He is playing Jesus in a long Drama series - that is the only reason someone would mistake him for the real thing and the GB have already said it will be used to teach the masses of resurrected ones. EVERYONE will see his face.

 

I am flummoxed. We have already been counseled about creature worship now, especially connected to actors in dramas - to not harass them for pictures and whatnot - but no one can see that this will be amplified when the resurrections happen? I don't get it.

Yeah, no - I don't see it happening at all. Never crossed my mind 'til it was mentioned here. The brother is just a regular guy... how/ why would he be anywhere to even get such attention in Paradise? There won't be a red carpet movie premiere about it. His biggest struggles are likely current Regional Conventions, etc. He probably shaves between shooting schedules... 

 

On the bizarre off chance a resurrected person literally runs into Aussie Jesus on a random street in the New World, actually recognizes him in his normal dress and grooming (not his Jesus costume), disregards what he learned about how movies work, and threw himself down in an act of worship, AJ could easily say, "Be careful! Do not do that! I am only a fellow slave of you and of your brothers who have the work of witnessing concerning Jesus. Worship God!" Rev. 19:10

First, it won’t be as much of a problem for brother portraying Jezus as it would be for real Noah, Abraham, David or Moses. 
 

Second, I’m much more concerned about meat in paradise than mistaking Jesus with an actor playing him. I mean

eating meat or not by the resurrected is going to be a concern for 100% people, seeing an actor for 0.01 or less %

It’s not so much that I see it as a guaranteed issue, but when it is dismissed as not even a possibility, I feel the need to be a bit more expressive just to make the point clear. It's already a habit of humanity to give undue attention to people, as the GB has counseled us for, so I truly hope he isn’t stumbled by it - and I’ll leave it at that.
