A new deep 6.6 is very bad news for the surrounding countries.  

Dutch is calling for a 7.0 or greater off the west coast of Canada.  

It's often 2 mag greater than the deep eq. He's being conservative on the call of 7.0 let's hope the pressure disapates along some fissures somewhere.

Our FS group overseer is getting us altogether on Zoom to help others get their emergency kit together.

We have a family here with us since lockdown ... he was over visiting his mum who is in our congregation when the lockdown happened. We all did a video of encouragement for the brothers and sisters of Vanuatu ... it's a beautiful video. His wife is Japanese and they have three beautiful daughters and one just lovely son - all are pioneers and musically inclined - it's been such a special privilege having them with us ... he said he can't return to Vanuatu because they don't have the virus there ... so he will be staying on for ra while.

What an awesome organization we have ... I know the brothers will be helping them as we speak. One of our now elders went there to stay with Alan and his family and they worked in a fried chicken shop in Port Vila.

Never seen so many over 5.0 in quick succession like that ... 5.0's aren't too bad - fun even ... but those 6.0's? They would be doing damage.

So many 5.0 - 6.0's .. it has to be over 7.0 for a tsunami to generate so let's hope that doesn't happen.

So many big quake reports on my phone this morning, I couldn't capture them all on one screenshot.  Plus a lot of volcanic activity.

That big quake in Northern Chile seems to have hit less than ten miles north of a large solar energy facility.

That’s a lot of broken glass like stuff! Since solar people blame quakes on fracking I wonder : will Fracking people blame this quake on solar??

and  9  of those 5.0 + quakes were quite strong. 

 

At least the volcanic activity seems to be slacking off...some.

There are currently 18 volcanoes erupting around the world

with another 10 showing elevated unrest.
