What do you do for recreation

In Oita Prefecture, Japan, where I live, there are frequent recreational activities with brothers and sisters from 15 congregations participating. Volleyball, basketball, and baseball are popular in my area. I would like to get new ideas from activities around the world and incorporate new recreational activities and new cultures.

Bro Hikaru,it's a beautiful thing to know that the brothers over there are maintaining our spiritual paradise.

 

In my area here in Nigeria,the brothers like to organize large get-together for the congregation,with lots of food and drinks and dancing,this is done towards the end of the year.

But for sports,we don't do much,but im thinking it maybe good to start somewhere and make our recreational activities more regular.

The comment in today's text (Nov 28, 2024) was encouraging and motivating in this regard. Showing our heavenly Father we appreciate the gift of life (taking care of our health ie by exercising.) Please excuse my poor English!

 

I went for a brief walk. It's a start

In my previous congregation, there was a group who liked to go hiking. My area has many mountain trails and beautiful scenery.

 

For me, I love fishing 🎣 and bike riding. My dad and I would go fishing often to local lakes. I loved fishing for largemouth bass. I always wanted to go deep sea fishing. I don’t know of anyone currently who does that.

Along with hiking trails, there are nice, scenic bike trails. I am not in super shape so I prefer easy-to-ride trails.
