What Publication Did You First Study When You Came Into The Truth?

Recommended Posts

For us it was "What does the Bible Really Teach?"

Which was phenomenal cuz having been brought up Protestant it was eye opening to realize what we knew wasnt what the Bible really taught ~ it was as if the title was just for us 🙂

I do not know. I’m too old to remember it. Probably, it was The Three Worlds.

What about you?

What a fun question Lori!

and...  how amazing that we have our Library that we can look up those books ... no hunting to find it from a book store and pay with dollars we dont have.  What a gift!!! I truly marvel at the feast of spiritual food ... even from yester year.  Mainstream Christianity would be charging a fortune ... I know cuz I used to buy whatever book Zondervan publishing had.

For me it was the little blue book "The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life" 🥰

Me too! But then the brother thought it better that I change to "Things in Which it is Impossible for God to Lie." (My overworking mind was demanding more detail than what was provided in the Truth book.)

I am wondering whether @jwhess studied the original copy of the  Pentateuch? He has been around for a long time :whistling::lol1:

I think he did. He is so wise, this very dear brother, that he can only come from a veryyy distant time.

In my early years, I  studied the “Listening to the Great Teacher” book for children. This book served as a foundational guide for me until my baptism followed by the book “Questions Young People Ask”. The reason for its continued use was that I was too young to comprehend doctrinal teachings because of my age at the time. However, the application of Bible principles provided the bedrock upon which my faith and appreciation for Jehovah and his people were built. As I progressed in my spirituality, deeper truths were gradually introduced through the study of other books during congregation book study and personal reading.

The first one I can actually remember is "From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained". However, I am sure my mother studied in other publications before I could read since she was studying before this book was published.

Me too, Br. Nat. At the time, the book we began using at the Congregation Book Study was New Heavens and New Earth (dark blue).

There weren't any specific books we were supposed to study, nor were there any questions to go over with the Congregation Committee before we got baptized.

I started studying with the blue book, The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life. I loved and enjoyed my studies with that publication. I still have it packed away in a box from when we moved from New Jersey to Massachusetts.

Fascinating book, John, we have a copy. It was helpful that these older books gave references to cited verses.  At Chapter XXII 'The Enduring Quality of the New World', paras 18,19 make some fascinating points about the final test.

I remember reading through From Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained as a child, but not understanding much. I devoured My Book of Bible Stories when it was released (I was 9 at the time). I think I eventually started studying in the Live Forever book and the United in Worship book afterward.

My mother came into the truth after studying the Truth book.

I studied the book “Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life” in 1996. I completed the training in 5 months, and already in June 1996, I became an unbaptized publisher.
