JW Pressroom on Social Media

Additionally, the Instagram handle / page is jw_pressroom.

Yet, the announcement states the both the Instagram account and Tiktok account are "JW Pressroom" (without an underscore).

If a business or an individual has a social media page - they are very precise and exact with the name and accounts of their social media and handles.

I thought we always received very clear direction and instructions on what to follow on. Im being extremely cautious about this rollout and have many questions which im unsure about.

It wouldn't take much for some smart individuals to make "copy cat" accounts.

I feel like some are getting ahead of the chariot here. We have not been instructed to interact with the social media accounts, nor have we been directed to mention the accounts in our ministry.

As I mentioned earlier, these accounts are not intended for us. They are intended for journalists and government officials. These are not “JW.org channels,” they are media-relations channels.

On JW.ORG there’s a section Medical information for Clinicians

We were not instructed to use it, it’s not intended for the general public. Does that mean we cannot read it or share it?

Please stop writing this… when you get the announcement at the meeting, you’ll look foolish for encouraging witnesses to do this.

He can like and follow any account he wants - whether official or unofficial. He doesn’t mention any unscriptural account so if he encourages to like or comment, that’s his prerogative.

There’s seems to be a confusion for non tech saavy users ( thanks @Jim Jam and @bvr for pointing this out)

Follow (if you want) only accounts with handle

jw.pressroom

(with a dot)

not

jw_pressroom

jw.pressroom.official

Do you have doubts? There should be a blue checkmark

If you see any apostate content or pictures it means you look at fake copycat accounts.

It's actually jw_pressroom, the official account

There seem to be some accounts impersonating the JW Pressroom account.

If possible, we can all help by reporting those fake accounts to Instagram as “pretending to be someone else” and linking the report to the official account.

Instagram is more likely to take action if many people report the impersonating accounts.

The jwpubs.org has published a new article about ensuring people are following the official JW Pressroom account.

I decided to write it because when people search online, it’s important to make sure the information that appears in search results is accurate. Right now, I think it’s full of misleading or apostate content.

The organization might update the website to show the social media, we will see. Still, having third-party articles showing in the search results that provide accurate information is always better than showing the ones that spread false information.

Just a reminder to everyone that all our comments in this topic are being logged and used by Google Search AI.
