Gertrude is still ill and it is looking like brain surgery, we will know tomorrow. Today she is resting and I whipped up a batch of short cake. It is in he oven at this moment. I have prepared a couple of cups of blue berries partial crushed and sugared. I will suprise her when she awakens. If she soesn't want blue berries I have cup of rasberries, her choice.

Just got back from a structure fire call.
Ten fire apparatus and twenty-five firefighters responded.
The home already a loss when we arrived and its sole occupant was deceased.
 
Hard to just go home and fall asleep after a run like that.
Wish I hadn't seen the remains.

We had an old/best friend stop by for a visit yesterday. We first met  as kids when his family was run out of a logging town because they were JWs. They came to live in Arcata. This was probably 68 years ago. Old friends, still best friends! Friendship exists to this day, the town Crannel, California doesn't, it was was buldozed off the map years ago.

I’m looking for a post, and I haven’t found it. It was one Victoria did. About showing respect to the government, of the country she lives in. That struck me, and I should have done a screen shot. We live in a country where if we are not careful, we can say things that could put us supporting or not supporting  a certain governmental position. (They’ve politicized about everything) The first step for me is keeping my mouth shut. So much ugliness. It’s not that I don’t care, it’s not for me to speak against. In any manner. 
To advocate for the kingdom. Period. That one comment meant so much to me. A reminder for me to be respectful from a sister who is in a country where she has to worry about her safety. And here we are...much love to you, dear sister....

How to save pictures from Watchtower Library?

I had my husband help me take apart a bird feeder. I wanted to clean it. The tiny nuts and bolts were rusted. I popped open a can of coke, put the screws and bolts in a tiny glass, poured coke over it, to get rid of the rust. Then I took the rest of the coke, got some ice out, and shared it with my husband. How’s that for pure insanity?
