  1. A pioneer and dear friend, lost her daughter in a brutal murder.  I curled up with her in her bed as she sobbed.  We know how to offer comfort to the world but, how do we comfort a JW?  Yes, it "should" be the same but, it's not.  We know why God allows suffering, until it happens to us.  Feeling helpless, wanting this wickedness to end.

I'm also very sorry to hear this. What you did was very loving. Words fail sometimes. There are no words.

I am trying to become better at comforting others.. comforting them without falling to pieces myself, that is. I'm still reeling from helping a family through a pretty sudden death a few months ago.

I'm waiting with you as patiently as I can for this horrible system to end.

With sadness and tears I am pained at your friends loss. You did all that you could do. You were there. She was not alone. You were there to help her get through the worst pain and grief any parent could possibly face.  You no doubt grieved with her the loss of  something that we were never meant to face. It is very  difficult to endure such pain alone.  The heart mourns with sadness and tears and nothing should deprive it of its right to do so. There is no healing or getting over this kind of pain.  No!  Not until what was taken away is restored back in her arms will the pain properly go away and be healed.,   In my opinion,  whenever and however  the need arises,   her heart should be allowed to cry out to Jehovah , "please return to me my daughter which was stolen from me"   For in this way the heart demands and  requires justice and consolation to be heard by our hearer of prayer and reader of hearts.  .  As JW's we grieve the same as all others grieve and we need the same comfort as others need but because of the  hope Jehovah has given us,  we know that the helpless feeling we are going through will one day be eliminated.

I'm so proud of our sister, although her pain is fresh, she is already back to posting (other) theocratic things on her FaceBook page.  No doubt, she realizes that this pain could eat her up, if she let it. So, she is intentionally focusing on other things.  Only Jehovah could give a person strength to do this, 3 days after the event.

How I Found the Truth

  • How I found the Truth
I grew up to some extent in the truth. As a teenager, I drifted away. I wanted to come back for many years but having an unbelieving mate held me back for some time. In 2006, I was baptized – I had to be true to Jehovah and myself.
