I am doing some research on my family tree and just found today that one of my ancestors in the 19th century opened in Madrid one of the first wax museums in the world.

A few (?) years back I found out I had a meniscus tear + starting of arthritis in the right knee. I’ve had a couple cortisone (?) shots last year. This March I went to the Ortho clinic and had a few X-rays taken. I had the doctor’s PA.
 
Anyway, she told me the meniscus was no longer the problem because the arthritis ate it away. 😬 So it’s now bone on bone.
 
I finally made the appointment to see my Ortho doctor to see what he would say. Not only bone on bone but I also have a bone spur. 😳
 
To make a long story short: Surgery is scheduled for Thursday, September 29. 
 

 

 
 

I have been on an adventure. I fell out of bed. Yes, a curious thing. As my head hit the floor, the angle was so precarious I was thankful my neck didn’t break. That’s what I thought as my head hit the floor. Not good. 
Later in the day, in front of 3 people, I flat out fainted. As in, standing up one moment, on the deck the next. My head got another, “bonk”. 
Merited me a trip, out town, in an ambulance. An hour and a half sojourn. 
Sort of pathetic situation. No hospital rooms here. Three hours away, east, or south. And, they would have sent me! If I needed a hospital room.
Got all my tests, and I apparently looked better, cause the doctor said I could go home. According to hospital records, grim. They are ruling out heart failure, breast cancer, and a hiatal hernia. (With a surgeon running around with a scalpel in his hind pocket, drumming up business.)
My theory, (bit of a learning curve here, albiet, a tad late in the game.) The doctor that called the ambulance on me started, unceremoniously quizzing me on my, um, water intake. I had a hard time scrounging up a glass, the day before. That, with a tad of stress, and, I was out for the count. 
I’m getting all sorts of tests to eliminate the dire things. But I have my suspicions, as my doctor does. We agree.  He’s doing his best to keep me alive, and, so far, pretty good. 
Anyhow, I’m feeling pretty good. Getting my strength back. And, um, drinking at least 6 glasses of water. 
Drink plenty of water!

Finally - cart assignments scheduled and starting. Can't hardly wait. 

I almost feel like I need to do a, “check-in”, and reassure you dear friends, “I have not lost it”.  Well,  or lost it all. We have been in the process of the Tribe, “rehabbing”, or house, or um finishing certain aspects of it. Big huge job.
It has been pretty well going on since January 3rd, this year. And, it has not been, “smooth sailing”. That red cedar floor downstairs now has been done twice. The first time, a less then stellar job. 
Plus the rest of it. It was a big job, and the first crew we had up here flat out left when my husband said it needed a third coat. We had to somehow get them to do that second coat, and thought it was a big gift to us. Plus, they used one of those, cylinder sander. And, wherever he stopped, there was a dip in the floor. 
 Bottom line, it not only got a sealer coat, but four more coats of the stuff. It’s beautiful. They kept it natural, with grain still there

Everything was in my Zoom room. In fact, both of my Zoom rooms. I had two rooms I could use. 
In the meantime, us and three cats were living upstairs. (We now have a bathroom, upstairs) 
We could not go over the floor downstairs, so we used the door that eventually will be a back exit. Right now, it goes to the top of the washroom, and to a bank, about 4 feet from the top of the washroom floor. The bank.
We used two planks to get to the bank. And, then a sketchy trail down the hill. I had to use something to make sure I did not tumble down the hill. Walking stick. 
The floor is now cured, and we will start getting some order in this house. 
Basically we have been living in one room, (the bed room) with a newly installed upstairs bathroom, that is functional. 
My husband has lost his hearing aids, so he watches, very loud television. News, if you can call it that.
No room for Zoom, until today. 
I’ve gotten to all the meetings, and managed to prepare pretty well. (When my husband was out, doing whatever. 
His wonderfully intelligent golden lab, (a rescue) killed on of our cat. I still can’t talk about that. 
We are trying to get him into a, “no-kill” shelter. They will get 
$100.00 when they take him. Yes, we are bribing! 
I’ve been cooking outside. Let’s not talk about that either. 
My sanity has been prayer, personal study, and the meetings. I did miss two weeks service.
Its almost over. With the work they are doing on the house, that one was most dreadful. And, it’s all but over.  
So, perhaps I should not have posted during this trauma. But I did. Maybe I will get my wits back now

Wow!  Our zoom meeting has been cancelled.  We had a monster snow storm, and it's caused most of the friends to not have power, so our meeting is cancelled due to lack of power.  Never seen the snow look like this here

We just found out that we had over 3 feet of snow over 24 hours in our local area.  Our townhomes still haven't been plowed as of going to work.  Many of our friends are still without power.  I had to trudge through knee deep snow to get to the entrance to our townhomes so my co-worker can pick me up and take me to work.  We are the only two that can make it, so the boss is giving us DOUBLE PAY for today!

Got my second cortisone shot in 7 months for the meniscus issue with my knee. I may have to think about checking with my orthopedic doc in the spring/summer. 
 
The local doc tonight before he went out to prep the shot said that he may take out some of the fluid to take a look at it and maybe even send it in. Unfortunately, he didn’t. 
 
I promised a friend that I wouldn’t rely on our local docs for too long. I know better. 🤣😂🤣

I love the source of life, so I got my booster 😉

Wall i have been doing well just had my checkup for my port for the
Dialysis the Doc said it look good and they look at it in 2 years 
 
I took some time off form playing star trek online, and they change it , 
Been working on my yard putting in planets, desert planets, will see how long 
If they live or not. Really i should banned for life or something 
 
Got my temp scegael form the dialysis place for the holidays don't like it 
But not much i can do about it 
 
    Even tho i see everyone on zoom i miss seeing people in real life 
Been busy more than ever with meeting, serves,  and studying. 

Some phone witnessing leave you drained. Man I talked today had just lost his wife and  as waiting on a cardiogram test. Will phone him in a few weeks to see how he is. And will send him a sympathy card.

This is my first status update to mark my 500th comment and 4 years of being on JWTalk.
Thank you Brothers and Sisters - Friends - for being here ❤️

Nice field service morning. Got a letter or 2 written. Had about 8 (?) people for the meeting for service and when everyone left it just left the host and his wife and me. 
 
But the wonderful thing that happened close to noon, was the sister and I had a great conversation. It brought us together even closer as friends. 
 
I told her how Zoom has brought me closer to the friends, where she is struggling with not having the physical contact. and struggles with conversation.
 
We even made plans to get together on Zoom to get some association time.
 
Friends, you’ll never know how much thus meant to me. But it meant a lot to her as well.
 
She mentioned how she’d love to have a few sisters over for a bonfire, but with COVID, she’s not sure how that would go down.
 
I then said how Ross and I have gotten together for a bonfire and camped out in her tent. I said Ross needs that friendship too. ❤️ ☺️ But I sure look forward to it as well. ☺️☺️☺️
 
 

This summer has been the deadliest tourist year. 
 
First, we had a guy climb over a fence at the Pictured Rocks overlook and fall to his death.
 
Then, in Marquette county not far from here, a guy wanted to take better photos so he climbed down a cliff they have there and fell to his death. 
 
Last night, 2 people were out on Lake Superior. They never should have been out there on such a windy night. 
Sometime last night during the search they found one of the kayaks. Sometime this morning they found a body. 
 
When you’re not from the area, it’s best to check things out, or heed warnings because it can end very quickly

Thank you all, for being so encouraging here on jw.talk, during constant yo-yo lockdowns this site proved to be a "gift" .While millions are in lockdowns etc, we not only have our meetings, but also this wonderful community  to lean upon. Thank you all again.  

Hey all, just letting everyone know that after much prayer and personal research on the matter, I'm making the personal decision to deactivate my account on JWtalk shortly (my own decision). Thank you to the staff here for your hard work taking care of this site; this is not a reflection on that at all, as I have the utmost respect for you. It's difficult for me to leave, as I have been able to meet some very cool brothers and sisters here that I wouldn't have if it wasn't for this site, which I am grateful for. I wanted an opportunity to say that I have genuinely appreciated my time here, and want to say goodbye to everyone, and to wish you all the very best!

Was assaulted yesterday, punched 5-6 times in the head by violent neighbour. Still shaken.  Need prayers.

For all those who stand up for the downtrodden, to those who help the  misunderstood, to those who comfort the lonely, for those who give aid to the widow and the fatherless boy and those who have no helper, Jehovah is proud of you for having such a big heart and showing loving kindness. Well done to all of you for not turning your backs on those in need.
