Well, if you were going to hide a pot of gold .... can you think of a better place ?

It looks logical to me. If someone offered a penny for my thoughts, that could add up to a lot of money in a place like that...

While helicopter pilot Andrew Park was flying over Phoenix this week, photographer Jerry Ferguson captured what appears to be a giant foreboding mushroom cloud hanging over the city. In actuality the scene is a weather cluster called a “microburst,” a phenomenon that occurs when cooled air from a thunderstorm rushes to the ground and spreads over the land at speeds over 100 miles per hour causing a powerful and centralized air current.

Ferguson captured the sight while filming the weather for a local TV station. A timelapse video by Bryan Snider shows the same microburst from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport, the camera positioned at what looks like just a couple hundred feet from the center of the storm. (via Mashable)

Maybe micro burst blew away the "Smell" of Phoenix for awhile. .  Landed there a couple of times and drove thru a couple of times.(td)  By passed it on way to Grand Canyon last fall. Turned north not to far past Quartzsite, AZ to avoid Phoenix.

I thought my designation as the potato queen was a gonner this year. The first few plants I dug gave me just over 3/4 of a 5 gallon bucket- much less than last year. And they were in the ground for 7 months!! 7 months! And the plants didn't flower either- unheard of. So I dug all except 1 plant in the garden and 2 hills in 2 separate places. Those I'll keep in the ground all winter and we'll have fresh potato during the winter from them.

But lookie what I eventually got, this is impressive. This should make about 4 cases of quarts. Maybe more.

Planting food is so satisfying. I yearn for the NS when plants will grow and grow!

What gives Phoenix its smell?Sniff_smell.gif  Pollution from cars and industry?

There was a micro burst  just to the north of the field I was raking this afternoon.  What a co-incidence.
