I spent a practically perfect afternoon, yesterday.YES Grinning.gif

Visited a miniature room/furniture exibit for breast cancer awareness.

Visited a couple of our dear sisters in a nursing home.

Picked up another sister, purchased some sweet potato fries, and we sat in this really neat gazebo,

overlooking Munising Harbor, on Lake Superior, and  we watched the cruise ships carrying all

the tourists to and from the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Park officials are predicting that Pictured Rocks will have over a million visitors, this year.

Which is why we love taking the literature cart down to the pier. YES Grin.GIF

One of the families I am free tutoring this year (I am helping the families to learn how to home school and directly tutoring math and grammar) will be studying Earth and Space  Science. I've written a curriculum that the parents can teach.  I will recommend they each pick one rock and learn everything they can about it. Then I would like them to consider the fact that Jehovah is our Rock and that earthquakes are caused when the bonds within rocks rupture. That's how strong a bond Jehovah offers us. The home scholars will have an assignment each week to find a scripture that relates to the earth or space. They can paint and mount their fave rock on a paracord and make a useful bracelet that can be taken apart in an emergency.  We also have a couple of rock stores in our little area.  One of the rock store owners wants to do a presentation for our little group of home students. Now, I am fascinated to learn how these breathtaking rocks in your pics were formed. Any info or links would be greatly appreciated.  YS.

These two are pretty good:

Geologic Formations

Chapel Rock

ChapelRock-x200.jpg

NPS Photo

The geologic formations of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore are most spectacularly represented by the 50-200 ft. sandstone cliffs that extend for more than 15 miles along the shoreline. Sea caves, arches, blowholes, turrets, stone spires, and other features have been sculpted from these cliffs over the centuries by unceasing waves and weather.

The name "Pictured Rocks" comes from the streaks of mineral stain that decorate the cliffs. Stunning colors occur when groundwater oozes out of cracks and trickles down the rock face. Iron (red and orange), copper (blue and green), manganese (brown and black), and limonite (white) are among the most common color-producing minerals.

Pictured Rocks derives its name from the 15 miles (24 km) of colorful sandstone cliffs northeast of Munising. The cliffs are up to 200 feet (60 m) above lake level. They have been naturally sculptured into shallow caves, arches, formations that resemble castle turrets, and human profiles, among others.

Gorgeous pics, Ross!

The gazebo view is the only pic I took.

The others are all googled images.

You can certainly see why over a million people are being drawn to the park.

The cruise would be a blast, even if there wasn't 15 miles of pictured rocks to ooh and awwww over.:o

I've been on the tour boats six or seven times in the past 45 years I've lived here, in Alger County.

Never ever get tired of the trip.^_^

Whilst searching, er, surfing the web, I came upon some humorous headstones.^_^

Jehovah willing, I will be among the 'millions now living' who may never die.

If I do die before the New System comes, though, I have decided that I want this to be my epitaph:

My Epitaph.jpg

I came up with this bit of morose prose after being told by an endocrinologist in Green Bay

that I could not possibly have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome because there is no such thing.:uhhuh:

That is because the CDC dropped the ball when investigating "Malygic Encephomemlytis" M.E.  2 doctors, who were the only 2 out of 18, knowledgeable about it, refused to sign the document naming it CFS in the US.

If you have real ME as primary then you will sooner or later develop heart &/or pancreatic problems.:crying:

Consciousness, that annoying time between naps!

The crop duster sprayed our barley for army worms and I ended up being exposed to whatever the army worms were exposed to.:(

My immune system didn't just stop working for me, it joined the 'dark side' and began attacking my thyroid.

I was able to treat myself with homeopathic medicines.

Just had a complete cardiovascular work up and my heart is firing on all cylinders, but I do have an occasional flair up of pancreantitis. (sp?)

Diatomaceous earth, why don't they use this instead? I use it all over my cabbage  to prevent the white moth from planting it's larvae (and broccoli, brussel sprout when I plant them). Just spread it in  few minutes ago. Instead they go for chemicals that kill us.

Dear Sister Ross, I can't seem to get this in the correct place. My PT thinks I also have chronic Fatigue syndrome. My Sister's Doctor has verified a diagnosis of this for her.  Here is a Golden moment for someone suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

I love it when people post stuff that concerns them personally instead of just stuff they see on the net. It helps us all to become more familiar with each other. Isn't that, after all, what we've been learning in the meetings in the last few years? Getting closer to each other?

Selfies, baby videos and family parties isn't what I'm thinking of, but the vid about the bengal cat from Mandi (love your accent Mandi!!) is super. I totally appreciate that.  Very pretty kitty by the way.

Thanks Sister Cheryl, she really is my buddy, next to my Tom, and a lot of people don't like NZ accent, we are told we speak too fast and can sound quite harsh - so glad you like. (oh the foot was tom's not mine btw).

I just love your cat, Mandi!  I want to enjoy a bigger version in the new system, something I can squeeze and squash without them suffering (too much)

I have a cross-eyed feral runt called Stella, but she isn't a talkie like your Abi :)

Your accent is very like mine, so no probs matey!
