401 is the major highway in Ontario between Windsor in the west( across river/US-Can boarder from Detroit, MI ) to the Quebec boarder in the east.

North America's busiest highway is Ontario's King's Highway 401  ... as it passes through Toronto it carries almost half a million people per day and is 18 lanes wide near Pearson International Airport.

One time a tire came loosened off of my Jeep YJ while I was driving on the 401, - lane traffic, on the fast lane. I literally started waving my arms to signal to the other drivers behind and around me that I needed to quickly go off the lanes and went across 4 lanes off to the side road. As soon as I made it and was able to stop at the side, at the same time a tow truck driver had been not far and stopped behind me. After inspecting my Jeep, he explained the tire was off and that I was lucky to be alive! I was in shock. He took my Jeep and I to the Canadian Tire shop where I had my brakes done, and in a mixture of emotions I told them they hadn’t put my tire on properly after they fixed my brakes which resulted in the mishap. I was able to get my money back from the job, but it could have been much worse. Those highways connecting to other hwy like the 403 or 427 are really huge. Got me ready for Autobahn driving in Germany, though. Can’t imagine what would have happened if I was driving at high unlimited speeds like allowed here at some stretches of the Autobahn. Well fast ticket to paradise. 🏞️

:omg: I did not know about this!

When I lived in Toronto (the late 1980s), the 401 had been widened to (I think) a whopping six lanes in some places! And that was considered too much! Just looking at that picture is mind-boggling!

No wonder they wouldn't allow jaywalking there!

My dentist was complaining about the turkeys strutting around his office and looking at themselves in the windows. He said they climb on his car and scratch the paint. I suggested leaving cans of cranberry sauce in the parking lot

One of our Public Talks was interrupted badly because a brother did not prepare properly by strapping his cat to the wall  (The photo of the cat should be sent to all giving talks LOL :whistling:)

One of our visiting speakers gave his talk with no issues at all - then, just as he went to give the closing prayer his cat decided it was time to be pet and leaped into the picture and strode back-and-forth trying to rub on him ... even hitting his space bar and muting him as he tried to apologize for the cat making an appearance.

It was a bit cute and funny and all, including the speaker, had a good laugh about it after he held the cat so he could pray.
