Jw.org baned in Russia. A response from God?

Russia has enacted various legal bans against the organization over the past few years.

The locust swarms have been in the region now known as southern Russia every year for decades.

Personally, I'm not seeing the connection here, unless Jehovah brought the plague against people whose only crime was having grandchildren who would eventually try to ban our literature.

How many times was Pharoah going to let Gods peop. go? I am for no way saying Jehovah allows plagues today. But he does stand by his people.

We Know this worlds out of control in many ways. But eventually somehow Jehovah has to say enough is enough. Let his people worship freely.

Like with France a few yrs back. Eventually had to pay back our Brothers etc. Right?

"It's a known fact that eighty decibels of rushing water is one of the most pleasing sounds known to mankind. On other hand, ten and a half days at sea is enough water for anybody."

The plagues only came upon israel after Pharaoh was given the opportunity to do the right thing. The plagues did not start a century beforehand in anticipation of a future ruler of Egypt saying "no" to someone who was not even born yet.

And how was that victory won? With a long series of natural disasters spanning the course of decades before the tax was ever introduced? Or through the well-established justice system after the fact?

Are we really going to start mimicking the attitudes of Christendom, gloating over innocent people suffering merely because they happen to live within the arbitrary national borders of a country ruled by a small group that creates laws to oppose the Kingdom message?

From the beginning I understood the thread to be tongue-in-cheek, since obviously Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe natural disasters are nowadays a punishment from Jehovah.

In the very few occasions when Jehovah has used natural disasters as a punishment, he gave a warning beforehand, and then they were selective. Jehovah does not punish innocent people.

Besides, if Jehovah were to punish Russia for its moderate persecution of God's people, there are a lot of countries that should have been erased from the map due to their much more aggresive opposition to our work.

So I think this was just a joke. :D

I think the OP was serious but the topic quickly turned TIC. Then the topic took a new direction and not all of us realized the new direction didn't relate to the OP so some of the posts are assuming the conversation is still related to the OP.

God - "Persecute my servants all you want.  Arrest them. Ban their literature.  Search their Kingdom Halls.  But don't you dare ban JW.org or I will smite you!"

Phillipians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well-spoken-of, whatever things are virtuous, and whatever things are praiseworthy, continue considering these things.

July 21 the JW.org website was banned.

July 20, Russia declares a state of emergency due to a swarm of locusts and southern Russia!

July 27, apocalyptic lightning storms irrupt over Moscow!

Yes, agreed there is no significance in dates due to the banning of the website.

However this is, got to be on Jehovah's radar!

Well, as I understand the past actions of Jehovah it will be unmistakable that he is acting. He will not do something that could possibly be accredited to another source. So since this is already questionable for some I would say it is definitely not Jehovah.

I agree with others that when Jehovah brings judgment it will be only upon the wicked and locust and weather rain upon everyone in the area.

Job 34:12 For a certainty, God does not act wickedly; The Almighty does not pervert justice.

Ps 37:28 For Jehovah loves justice, And he will not abandon his loyal ones. They will always be guarded; But the descendants of the wicked will be done away with.

Putin gets his power from the Russian Orthodox Church so there is no surprise here! His government is just a puppet of the church.

I thought that church was puppet of Putin.  :touche:  Wait. They are both puppets of

Everything is on Jehovah's radar, more especially so any suffering of his people, but whatever country or circumstances we find ourselves in ... it's going to be difficult -none of us are going to get into the new system unscaved (if that's a word) - we are all going to be limping into the New System.

Even in countries that don't have the in your face persecution like Russia - day to day struggles are getting harder for our brothers. Jehovah will be taking note, and in some instances he even moves hearts of judges or courts to work in our favour - but to smite people with natural disasters? That would make us no better than other religions who tell their people that God is angry with them, whether they believe in God or not. His time hasn't come yet for that type of smiting and who knows in the meantime who will turn to Jehovah.

We are all victims of circumstances and that includes unusual and increasing events of natural disasters or other events.
