Adult Coloring Books

I hate to say what my first thoughts were when I saw 'Adult Coloring Books' on the store shelves.

 

I have bought a few for my Mom, to help her pass the time while her broken femur is mending.

Last night, in the school supplies at WalMart, I found some 'twistable' crayons and colored pencils.

I just had to get some and take them for a test drive.  

 

Which meant I needed to get an adult coloring book.

 

I went over to the book department and, as I was perusing the titles and flipping through the pages, I

came across an adult coloring book called:

"Color the Names of God"

 

Sure enough, Jehovah's name was in it on twelve of the pages.

 

Guess which one I bought?

 

The other names of God in the book are:

Elohim

El Shaddai

Immanuel

El Elyon

El Roi

El Olam

Lord

Adonai

 

and Jesus.

 

So close...and yet, so far.

I just bought an adult coloring book for a 9 year old girl in our congregation whose family is going to South Dakota for unassigned territory.  It's a 12 hour trip, one way so I thought this would help her pass the time.  It was a really neat book  - mostly flowers and frogs and insects.  I gave her a bunch of gel pens and fine point sharpies for coloring.  I hope she likes it.

 

By the way, I have a gift bag I bought several years ago at a Dollar Tree store that has Jehovah's name written on it.  Haven't had the heart to part with it yet.

On Pinterest I found some printable adult coloring pages.  Some I have been able to print out to share with others in the congregation who might enjoy this activity.  And, btw, I read on internet news that this is the 'latest thing because it helps with stress levels.'  Myself, I have always liked to color.  Shali, that was a nice gift for the young sister.  She will remember that for a long time.

I also love to color, as stated it is a very good stress reliever. Because I am not a very physically active person due to health problems I find coloring to help pass the time and take my mind off my problems. It's also works for my grandchildren in giving them something to do and we do it together, which I love being with them doing stuff.

I have a number of colouring in books .... if I wasn't doing so much reading on here trying to catch up and keep up with you chatterboxes, I might actually have time to colour.
