I never gave Picard a go due to " a lot of violence" that is apparently happening.

Is Picard Tv series really violent?

Man was created as an intelligent creature with the desire to explore and understand :)

It starts out a bit that way, but I wouldn't say it's any more than the latest movies with the Kelvin timeline.

As far as disturbing stuff, there's only 1 scene with an eye getting extracted from it's socket. 🙄 Beyond that it's PG-13 material.

And then yes in the final season there's a bit more again. But it's not the focus, it's just something that happens and then we move on.

Way better in story & quality than the latest movies.

I’m not sure about what really violent means but there are phaser fires and Klingon style hand to hand combat which I skip (+10/20/30/etc seconds). It’s definitely non as violent as a lot of other sf movies I tried watching and couldn’t

🙏 Thank you! 🙏

Star Trek canon ends for me with ST:IV. I hate what they did to Sarek in TNG, and could never get into that series or most of the others. “Discovery” is one long lecture. I can’t believe that the Great Bird of the Galaxy would be happy with the way everything has gone. TOS was about people and relationships - friendships- most of all. It became increasingly dark, and the morals and culture of Vulcans aren’t any better than that of humans now. <sigh>

I watched a little of the first episode.  I didn't find it very interesting, so I never watched it anymore.

We all will come to a common consesus that the movie "Star Trek V - The Final Frontier" is generally regarded as one of the worse Star Trek movies ever made.

However, if you watch the following video, just by adding a laugh track had somewhat made the movie much more bearable to watch. Enjoy.

The sad thing is, I really liked the humour in this movie, but that’s where it ended. The idea of giving Spock a half brother, and that ridiculous cave scene…oy.

A little-known trivia tidbit about that movie is that it was not the movie William Shatner tried to make. When he signed on to direct the movie, he had envisioned a more epic movie ... but, a strike happened, and the movie got pushed back. When they were finally able to start filming, not only did they cut the budget in half, but they also compressed the time for filming. Location scenes Shatner thought he would have a few days each to shoot had to be finished in a single day each.

Then, when it came time to edit the film, he discovered he had NO say in how it was edited. He said that several of the scenes he felt were critical to the actual story were left on the cutting room floor - therefore, the movie that showed in theaters was not the movie Shatner filmed.

I was thinking of buying this from a local automtive parts store. However, I have discovered that time travel would have to be involved, as we are not yet in the year 2151, nor as yet 2386. Unless Geordie LaForge brought the book with him, that would have only been in 2063 at First Contact, and we are still 39 years away from that even as well.
