Sending Streaming Links

Recommended Posts

When elders send the stream link must each email be entered separately? We usually have 3 or 4 so it’s no bing deal. Now with the lockdown the whole congregation needs the link. Adding all is a big job. Is there an easier way?

You should be able to make a "group list" that contains the email addresses of all in the Service Group or Congregation - as Vinnie says, a semi-colon is used to seperate the addresses ... like this:

firsteamailaddress@someplace.com; secondemiladdress@anotherplace.com

Some suggest you actually place the email addresses in the "BCC" address line instead of the "To" line so each person gets a "personal email" and you are not sending everyone's email address to everyone on the list

Yep. Irritating to find that despite you being careful with your email address it's out the door when you got sent an invitation.... 🤦‍♂️ lol

Your congregation is not meeting via Zoom?

Yes .. but our Circuit Assembly is the issue at hand.

you can use a semi-colon to separate each email address.

Nope. Tried that before I posted this ... won’t take it.

Our invitations arrive by email and/or Whatsapp - not sure what app they are sent from

By using an actual email client/program/service you can copy the invitation from Zoom and paste it into the body of the email and send them with the email service

My question is NOT concerning Zoom. What I am asking about is the JW Streaming site. That has an invitation that’s consists of a single box for a single email.

In my congregation, each group overseer sent out the invitations via WhatsApp or mailed it those who didn’t use WhatsApp for whatever reason.

We had our CA streamed to the Congregation via Zoom and KHConf - not individual links to JWStreaming

We have our CABR this weekend.  We received directions from the Branch through the CO not to Zoom the streamed (or downloaded) circuit assembly program.  They had a special meeting with the circuit elders (180 of us on ZOOM) to go over all the details.

I should have indicated that we are going to use the recording on JW Stream.  However, they wanted us to use the recorded CA on an individual basis.  There was no explanation of the request not to Zoom it as a congregation or as a circuit.

Zoom has reached its limits in some areas. It is better not to endanger the whole.

  • 4 weeks later...

On the streaming site just create one invitation to yourself and then when you get the email copy the link inside it and send it out to everyone else in the congregation with a normal email. That's what I did for our first meeting after the lock down.

It is easy. But is not the instruction of the organization. A personal link should be created that should not be passed on.

One of the advantages of creating separate invitations is they can be cancelled, revoked or renewed individually in the Invitation Manager.

Yes a publisher cannot share. But I am not going to debate it. Our body did not see a conflict when we decided to do it.

It breaks the rules. We spoke to the CO and had to change that.

The only way is: A personal invitation to every publisher. No copies.

Viewing the meeting is by direct invitation of the elder involved.  If you email a "blanket" invite, the receiver of the email can copy it or forward it to someone the elder does nt eve know.  This is how things end up on the social media sites.  No harm may be intended but the possibilities for errors grow when we don't follow the rules that are plainly stated...❤️

I appreciate your opinion and your CO's opinion and I have my opinion. If we need to do it again I will call Service.
